"The Black Horse"? Is that from Revelations? That Book is so hard to read, by the way. I hear that it can make a person c-ray-zaaayyy. cheesy Me, I got bored confused at "Genesis." lipsrsealed wink

Years ago, I dropped International Law as a concentration in my major once I realised there is no such thing. The big nations make the "laws" so they can break them.

Israel can't control what happens in Lebanon or Syria but knows that without Iranian weapons, neither Syria or Hezbollah will be a threat to them.

Beyond that, the longer the civil war goes on in Syria (and possibly Lebanon where Hezbollah is only a third of the population) the more likely it is that Israel will become safer.

Whoever is left to rebuild those areas is going to be interested in economic growth and trade and that will benefit the entire region, if they're smart enough to be pragmatic.

The myth that Israel is the Arabs biggest problem has been exposed as a lie. The reality is that Israel holds the key to Arab prosperity for any nation that doesn't sit on top of an oil well.

Moscow: Putin Held Telephone Talks With Netanyahu, Assad Sent Letter To Washington

Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the Syrian conflict, the Kremlin said Monday, after Israel launched air strikes inside Syria.

Putin and Netanyahu discussed the “situation in the region and the situation around Syria,” the president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a statement to Russian news agencies, without giving further details. The Russian foreign ministry had earlier expressed concern over the air strikes.

Previously, Russian Embassy in Damascus has refrained from commenting on reports that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad forwarded a letter to Washington via Moscow to warn that Israel’s new aggression would evoke an immediate response.

“We are so far receiving information from open sources the same way you are. Therefore, we cannot give any special commentary on behalf of the embassy at the moment. We are following ourselves what is being published,” said an embassy spokesperson.

The Kuwaiti newspaper Alrai reported earlier that Assad had sent a letter to Washington through Moscow to warn that Israel’s new aggression would evoke an immediate response.
It said Assad expected an answer from Washington within 24 hours.

The newspaper cited a source close to Assad as saying that the Syrian leader told Russia he expected an answer to his letter sent to the U.S. within 24 hours and warning that, if Israel attacks Syria again, it would interpret this as a declaration of war and would retaliate without prior notice.

Syrian authorities reported earlier that Israel had delivered an air strike on a research center outside Damascus in the early hours of Sunday.

Meanwhile, Russia is analyzing the circumstances of Israel’s air strikes on Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement posted on Monday.

“We are also specifying and analyzing all circumstances of the extremely alarming reports about Israeli air strikes on sites in Damascus suburbs on May 3 and 5,” the statement said.

Moscow also called for stopping politicization of the possible use of chemical weapons in Syria.

“For our part, we insistently appeal for stopping politicization of this extremely serious question and escalation of the anti-Syrian atmosphere. We reaffirm the impermissibility of dragging out under far-fetched and dangerous pretexts a response to the Syrian government’s appeal to the UN with regard to the claimed use of chemical armaments by opposition armed units in Khan al-Assal on March 19,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement.

Russia continues to insist on an independent expert study of the use of war chemicals in Aleppo, Syria, given the conclusion of a UN special commission on its possible use by opposition forces.

Moscow is concerned about reports suggesting that chemical weapons are being used in Syria and views them as indications that the international community is preparing for a possible intervention in this country from the outside, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The situation in Syria and around it has become dramatically tense in the past several days. A number of Arabic and other international media outlets have posted especially many speculations on the use of chemical weapons in the confrontation between the government forces and opposition fighters. Signs of preparing the international public opinion for the possibility of forcible intervention in the protracted internal conflict in Syria cause our serious concerns,” the statement cites Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich as saying.

Lukashevich mentioned a statement by Carla del Ponte, a member of an independent commission investigating human rights abuses in Syria, saying that chemical weapons, particularly sarin, could have been used by opposition fighters rather than the government forces.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov posted in his Twitter account ”The UN special commission believes that war chemicals in Syria could have been used by the armed opposition. The conclusion was drawn based on a poll of witnesses,”

“This fact once again proves the need for an independent expert examination of what happened in Aleppo in April,” he said.

I am a bit surprised at Moscow's relatively muted response over this situation.

Unless Israel has a puppet government to put in place of Assad, they are helping Al Qaeda, to take over Syria and the blowback will be terrible!

Tru any nation wit a half a brain will emulate isreal and not be embroiled into political and territorial battles dat under the guise of religious sentiment is waged. But who are we kidding this is deir culture. Fighting each other while ensuring the mutual destruction of the area. I don't believe there is a lasting solution to conflict in south east asia. If dey keep blaming other countries for being better than them and doing nothing to resolve it economically.but to realize dis dey must see logic which is something I believe is quite impossible. If they don't remove the veil of religion and substitute it for pure morality and human decency.they av all suffered casualities in dis cycle of hatred. Until a mutual pact of non combatance is reached in dat area. Incidencies like this will be everly common plAce
