Arsenal have agreed a
new kit deal with Puma
worth in excess of £30m-
a-year with the five year
deal worth a total of
£170m making it the most
lucrative in Premier
League history, according
to the Mirror.
Our current kit deal with
Nike is due to expire in
2014 and the report claims
they have decided against
triggering an exclusive
renegotiation clause
allowing us to speak with
other manufacturers.
Reports have been rife in
recent months about who
the next kit maker would be
with Adidas and Warrior
both touted, but it seems
Puma have won the race and
will become our new kit
manufacturer in 2015
ending a 20-year
association with Nike.
The deal is worth more than
Liverpool’s new £25m-a-
year contract with Warrior
and dwarfs the current
Nike deal, that is worth
just £55m over seven
years. However, the Mirror
claim we’re still bound to a
confidentiality agreement
and the new deal won’t be
officially announced for
some time.
The new deal will be a
further boost to manager
Arsene Wenger and
additional funds could be
made available for
transfers as we continue to
make strong strides in our
off the field commercial
activity, with this new deal
following on from the
£150m five-year shirt
sponsorship deal with the
Emirates that was
announced last November.
