What Makes Nigerians Ignorant? by yorubaamerican(m): 6:03pm On May 08, 2013 |
I'm really trying to wrap my head around this one: Why do many Nigerians ridicule those who speak differently from them, perhaps because they weren't born and/or raised in Nigeria? What is going on the in the inner-workings of the Nigerian mind when the average Nigerian can't understand that everyone who they consider Nigerian doesn't have to speak and/or behave a certain way? |

I'm British I kind of get you there, but actually recently i've noticed it's more of a generation thing. I get that ignorance mainly from people older than me but my generation and below (i'm 24) don't seem so bad. I think its just a cultural thing, Nigerians aren't the only ones, I know Indian people who think the same about their people, Jamaicans who say the same about theirs etc etc... when you look at certain counties, a lot of the people do think the same ( I know its not good to generalise but generalisations in some cases are relevant)... 1 Like |
