It was indeed a moment of reflect at the opening ceremony of the 5days Retreat of the Delta state Board of Internal Revenue tagged Delta Beyond Oil; Implications and the Role of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue as the state Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, stressed the reality on ground, the reason behind and true meaning of the Delta Beyond Oil Initiative.

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan who stated that the mandate of Delta Beyond Oil is a must achieve goal said, the State Board of Internal Revenue is a key player in realizing the objective there-in.

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan while tasking the staffs of the board to put on their thinking cap and come up with solutions that would enable Delta State to be able to pay workers salary through Internally Generated Revenue, noted the state will hencefort pay salary before 20th of every month as she has done this month.

While noting the importance and necessity of diversifying the state and the Nation's economy during his key note address, Governor Uduaghan stressed that "we cannot continue to depend of federal allocation to pay staff". "We can not build a stable economy if we continue to depend solely on Oil which is on one hand, exhaustible and on the other hand the price can fall anytime". — at Asaba Delta state.

Delta Beyond Oil DBO is a policy thrust that I love so much. It means self sustainable development without oil revenue. Let the State pursue this policy vigorously and it shall be well with us. Thanks to the Governor for this laudable vision.
