What is mostly depicted as symbol of Islam nowadays is the star and crescent, and even these were of recent origin. They have no basis either in the Qur'an or Hadith which are the primary sources of Islam, As for your second question , the holy Prophet (PBUH)left this world after suffering from fever for several days. He was over sixty years old (some say 63 years). His life history is readily available online in many islamic websites . or simply google the name "Muhammad" |
