Today , we have many men in the pulpit who have Phd , Mphil, Dsc, and other admirable degrees, they have attended seminaries, bible colleges and other citadels of higher education . Consequently , as a result of their training, they have been ordained to deliver the truths of God's word to the body of Christ and preach the gospel to the world. They are often widely traveled, well dressed and speak with an air of superiority , expecting the illiterate sheeple to swallow what they say hook line and sinker.

Many have big titles such as Dr , Bishop, Senior Pastor, Apostle , Reverend, Very Reverend etc , putting themselves above the rest and expecting the sheeple to follow without question.

To all this, I have a question. Since when did a Man have to acquire so many academic titles as a prerequisite for leadership in the church , especially for the teaching of God's deep truths? Maybe I am wrong, but the bible clearly says that the Holy Spirit is the teacher and reminder of the deep truths of God's word , for only God can reveal the mysteries of his word , not men and their institutions of learning.

"But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets." - 1 Corinthians 2:10

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." - John 14:26


Even when we have brethren with the gift of teaching, it is always a gift from God, not as a result of years and years of training in citadels of learning , of which many propagate lies, myths and fables thereby making the word of God of no effect.


Why then do we put these men on a pedestal of invincibility and infallibility , are they more knowledgeable than the Spirit of God, do they have a superior anointing to that of the ordinary sheep of the flock ? How come we agree with all their theology with no desire to test all things , prove all things and cleave ONLY to what is good. Are they above the law ?

I need your opinions please.

Disclaimer : I have no issues with bible schools that simply train young believers in the word of God , allowing for healthy debate and discussion, providing no opportunity for any one person or group of people to pretend to know and hold the TRUTH.

Since the Gospel became a commercial Product and the "Ministry" became a very lucrative Career;and like all much sought after Careers,one needs to Impress prospective Customers with qualifications and Titles

I agree with you mostly , if you read my disclaimer , I implied that there are still good bible schools out there, though few , these preach and teach out of a pure heart and humble attitude. However , there are many bible schools set up by the churches who teach these false doctrines. Therefore, if your intent is to attend these colleges with an open mind while questioning certain doctrines you disagree with , you will be disappointed. A healthy bible college allows for debate and allows reexamination of previously held beliefs and or dogmas.

Nigerian bible school are nothing but chartered institute of marketing, where they teach you how to tell lies and still keep a straight face. Their main curriculum is MLM and networking, where u will open a downline church, the upline mog is wosrhiped and most of the time is invited to come and advertised the host son-in-the-lord and recieves monthly tithe of tithes and seeds, while the downlines invite their peers for reciprocal and % fund raising. One day my sister inlaw invited my wife to a programme in her church, after the programme, my wife went behind the pastor's office to check herself while there she overhead the guest pastor asking his host, "how much did we raise and what is my percentage". Bros phd etc are specialised degrees, how can a specialist in say 'demonology or escathology or fund raising or speaking in tongues or the law of Moses, or Pauline letters etc etc become expert in the word. Peter who spoke powerfully that the scribes and elders were so amazed, which bible school did he attend? If u are not called, u are not called. No wonder they are sending many into atheism.

On the contrary, many people had no choice than to embrace atheism after observing the sharp and cunning practices of these so called "men of God." You will be surprised to know that many atheists are former Christians well versed in the Bible.
