Since the year 2000, the Super Eagles have lost only three world cup qualifying matches. Nigeria lost to Liberia in Monrovia in 2000; lost to Sierra Leone in Freetown (2001) and lost to Angola in Luanda (June 2004). Within this period (2000-2013), Nigeria has played 36 world cup qualifying matches.

ghananotnaija: You may have won today, but Ghana will go much farther than Nigeria in the World Cup. Too bad there's no head-to-head between the two teams, because in that case Ghana will surely crush Nigeria like insects and will shut all the Nigerians up for good.

Anyway, Kenya is known for marathons, not football, so it's not surprising that Nigerian won.
your team is not even sure of making it past your new husbands Zambia, take care of the mountain task in your group first before you meddle into ours...i honestly don't see Ghana beating a very desperate and disciplined Zambian team... and its even worse that they have the psychological edge plus better goal difference over you guys,go to the Zambian football forum and see how the bloggers there are sure of humiliating your team again.

As much as I love Keshi, the way he chose to invite Akpala and those local players instead of proven scorers like Imoh Ezekiel and Eneramo leaves much to be desired. Akpala has been on injury and just recovering and Keshi is playing a player that is not fit.

Ideye is just too wasteful infront of goals. We need to discover better strikers.
akpala is not the type of player we need. When he isn't injured, he is too slugish and not sharp enough... Most of the home based player keshi invites are midfielders and not strikers. We need a good sharp shooters at the front.

collynzo2: It looks like Imoh Ezekiel wants to play for Belgium, judging from some reports out of there, Keshi discusses with all the players he wants to invite before sending the list, as for Enerama, he's ony a proven scorer in your world of delusion.
. Imoh Ezekiel is not eleigible to play for Belgium. He only got to Belgium 2011. From then to 2013 is how many years So, whats the criteria for being a citizen of a country? .....Ezekiel was born in Lagos where he played for local
team 36 Lions until the end of 2011 when he was
loaned out for six months to Standard Liège. In the
summer of 2012, the move was made permanent.
Ezekiel started the 2012–13 season strongly, scoring
4 goals in 7 matches. Ezekiel sign a new contract
with Standard Liège until 30 June 2015.( Wikipedia). He himself has said it that he wants to play for Nigeria... Mennnnn, you need to watch this guy, he's very fast, sharp, can dribble 2 to 3 players at a time.

churific: Nigeria vs. Kenya.

A clash between my two favorite African countries. I expected a most hostile atmosphere after the ill treatment we afforded them in Nigeria.

Nigeria barely beat Kenya and most of us Nigerians are jubilation as if 1-0 is not disappointing. Until recently, we didn't even know Kenya had a national team.

Either ways, we'll have to take the win. SUPER EAGLES!

a win and topping the group is dissapointing? you are a blind foool!

the super eagles beat a team
(1)away from home
(2)on a bad pitch
(3)missing key players and you are still downplaying it.

fact of the matter: we won a team even when we weren't on our best. no one will remember how many touches poeple got on the ball, only the score. simple and short.
CASE IN POINT: BARCELONA v BAYERN.
possession 63 - 37
score 0 - 4

They could fast-track his citizenship if they want, it was allover the Belgian press at a time, do you honestly think Keshi hasn't contacted him? You guys baffle me at times.

Keshi should drop akpala totally , put idaye on the bench, invite sydney sam, imoh and tony.

texaco1: the difference between ghana and nigeria is that Ghanians have good midfielders which is what is lacking in our super eagles but the Ghana team has always lacked quality strikers and they have always relied on their midfielders for goals that is where Nigeria strength is Nigeria has a pool of quality strikers which even poses a bigg problems for our coaches,if we can get our midfield right no team will be able to withstand our eagles
I disagree with you big time. Our current mid-field (MIKEL, ONAZI, OGU, MBA, OGUDE.etc.) is far beter than that of Ghana. Dont u knw hw to analise, watch our matches, we hold the ball in the mid-field confidently before going to attack. However, the attack of the team we watched today wasnt very clinical in the face of goal due to the abcense of key strikers. TRUST ME, WE HAVE A TEAM THAT IS ALMOST FORMIDABLE AGAINST ANY TEAM IN THE WORLD. They just need some more time together with the technical crew then Nigeria has arrived with a team superior to that of '94.

Sidney Sam just made his debut for Germany, did you read what I wrote about Imoh in the post you quoted? Who is Tony? Probably someone currently playing for another country, just like Sidney. You guys just write anyhow without research.

Nigeria's midfield is largely good in keeping possession- which is important in international football. But sometimes, they have to quickly pass the ball to a striker/winger, when the opportunity is there.

Who is this naive, uncultured, village teenager? I was initially supporting Ghana to qualify from that group but his immature, stupid rants are so annoying. NOW, GHANA PROBABLY WILL NOT QUALIFY!

Sidney Sam only played in a friendly. Under FIFA rules, he can still switch to Nigeria.

And you still have hope of that? He rejected Nigeria's overtures and featured for Germany yet you guys keep including him in your wish lists. If Keshi goes with you internet coaches he'll be inviting 50 players per match

Not everyone unfortunately, some will never be satisfied, even if he wins the world cup they'll still suggest he brings back Odemwingie or ask why he didn't invite Eneramo. Thankfully Keshi doesn't pay attention to such nonsense.

Ideye has the potential to be our number 9,and i'm sure there is something that keshi sees in him that most people don't.

His movement off and on the ball is cool,he has a good understanding with our current midfielders,an understanding that can only improve with time,he just need to score in some consecutive matches, and bang! We have the 9 we have always wanted.

What keshi is trying to build here is consistency, keep playing a group of players always, and their understanding of each others movement keeps improving, until it gets to a telepathic level, then you would have gotten the team of your dreams.

The idea of always altering the team,by droping and inviting new players doesn't sit well with me,it does no good,we should be aiming for consistency.

You very right bro,Ideye has some wicked off d ball body movement.I feel d more Keshi plays him,his confident in front of goal, will increase just like Emenike.

BTW, Omeruo got the assist for the goal.

It's still remarkable that despite playing at home, the Kenyan's never forced a save from Enyeama.

That's a bit of a stretch. However, Keshi's squad plays more like a team, unlike the previous sets of Super Eagles.
