Firefighters in eastern China have rescued the abandoned newborn baby boy lodged in a sewage pipe after Residents in Jinhua called firefighters after hearing the two-day-old baby crying in the fourth-floor squat lavatory. Attempts to pull him out failed, so rescuers sawed away a section of the 10-centimetre diameter pipe with the baby inside and took him to a local hospital.

Firefighters and doctors spent nearly an hour taking the tube apart piece by piece with pliers and saws and finally recovered the newborn, whose placenta was still attached.
Police in China are searching for the parents of the newborn baby that was rescued from a sewage pipe and have issued an appeal on the social media website Weibo so that the parents can be reunited with their son. Below are the pictures of the rescue operation.
