Recently, a Marco Polo bus was conveying passengers from the East to Lagos when it was ambushed by a group of armed robbers somewhere along the road. The robbers got into the bus and began taking the wallets, jewelries, phones, cash and other valuable items from the passengers seat by seat, at gun point, manhandling some of them in the process. One of the robbers got to the seat of a male passenger who was wearing the blue jersey of chelsea FC and was about taking his phones and wallet when the gang leader shouted at him saying..." Dragon, U dey craze?, u nor see say na our fellow chelsea fan? Common, free that guy". The robber then said ''Sorry boss, I bin nor even notice sef". At this point, he began smiling and screaming ''UP BLUES'' to the Chelsea jersey wearing-passenger while taking up his hand and shaking it forcefully but cheerfully. The blue passenger just had to cooperate and he managed to get smiling saying ''Blues for life'' in solidarity with the robber. The robbers left him unrobbed and continued robbing every other passenger in the bus, after which they left.

This story got around and a few days later, numerous travellers (males and females) travelling through that route were seen wearing the blue jersey of chelsea FC or having the chelsea FC sticker conspicuously placed on the front windscreens of their vehicles.
