Gays protest in Anambra

Scores of homosexuals, on Wednesday,
staged a protest at the Atani Chief Magistrate
Court in Ogbaru, Anambra State, in solidarity
with two suspected homosexuals standing
trial for
allegedly committing same sex offence.

None of the protesters wanted to speak on
record to the press for fear of victimisation.
However, the apparent leader of the group
said the protest was to make the government
rethink its stance on gay rights.

“We can’t all keep quiet as if people are not
aware that this is discrimination of the
highest order going on,” he said.

“They need
to tell us what crime people commit when
they willingly decide to have sex as adults.”

A bill criminalising same sex unions in the
country has been passed by the National
Assembly and sent to President Goodluck
Jonathan for assent.

Various human right
groups, led by Amnesty International, have
urged the president not to sign the bill into
law.

They have the right to live just like anybody else.

I don't think it is their own makings to be who they are.If wi was gay,i will of course be proud of it,just like i am proud of being who i am today,of being a soulful man,of being black.
