Ada Nri1: forget patriotism, everything in Nigeria is quid pro quo. If any of them sustains injury while playing for Nigeria, NFA will abandon them.
Thanks for your contribution. What is patriotism when sports "oga at the top" are busy stealing billions of Naira?
Re: Super Eagles Reject $2,500 Bonus by nijanigga: 4:32pm On Jun 13, 2013
longjon: What happened to patriotism ?
Patriotism is foreign to Nigerians, I don't blame them.Senate President David Mark is going home with over 100M naira/month as his official salary now add all the kick backs and kick fronts and kick unders, he might be going home with 1B naira/month.
The boys want their own share of National cake, before it dried up.

For a team that is just slowly winning back the support of Nigerians, this is a bad move. If they get disgraced at the Confed Cup or fail to qualify for the World Cup, these players will not hear the last of it o! Concentrate on the soccer first. Dangote, Adenuga, Corporate bodies and the Presidency will splash cash on them if they perform.
Re: Super Eagles Reject $2,500 Bonus by nijanigga: 4:42pm On Jun 13, 2013
I won't be shocked if some NFF officials are trying to defraud the players. Govt actually budgeted $5000/player but the officials saw some opening for looting. If $250,000 said to be player's bonus for a qualifier for SA2010 was missing in a hotel, nothing is impossible with NFF. What hyena is to meat,so are Nigerians to money.

We can't condemn these boys for making us proud, the politicians who bring us shame, pain and destruction earn as they wish, why is that fair They have the right to demand more and refuse not to play for the country...Period!...If you don't agree strap your soccer-boot and represent Nigeria. We seem to ignore the dangers involved in the game. Maybe Sam Oparaji will refresh our memory.

Most ppl do not really understand a thing abt patriotism.yu think forgoing ur basic salary for d good of ur country is being patriotic? Hunger go jus kill yu!d only act of patriotism required of footballers is to play out their lives for d glory of their country.doz boys were quite patriotic against Namibia.y den are they gettin underpaid.infact they shud be paid d winning bonus for their resilience. my country has money

who tell you? So those local based players have enough eh? Olodo, i know if it were to be osaze, yakubu, martins and co they would have gladly accepted it. They really did their best and expected to beat the brave warriors, apparently the warriors were not only brave but gallant.
The SE don't feel good about it and this is bad cos going to confederations cup with inferior complex could bring about bad records. IMO

Super1759:
Which gej consumes 20,000 food daily? Why are you making baseless accusations just to hype your statement? Are you his cook?

He is very correct, it is not a baseless claim. GEJ's food allowance for the year was 1billion naira. Apply the 150naira exchange rate and divide by 365 and it comes to roughly $20,000. It is bizzare that such an unbelievable amount of money is reserved for one man's food when there is mass poverty in the land.

Rossikk: Bullshiit.

What is bullshit? For how many months now have the NFF made it known that they've slashed the bonus?

Make them play their confederations' cup for namibia na.

Imagine players like Ujah, Oduamadi, and those local players joining the rebels. Players that should be pushing to play if they are paying them $500. Mtschew...

bjjbam: English players will do anything to wear d three lion shirt including playing for free. I am not saying they shouldn't be well remunerated but when ur motivation for playing for ur country is money. Something is wrong somewhere.

You are a big f**l. When they pick up injuries, you think the NFF would care? If you don't know about the Glass house thieves ,no come here dey preach patriotism. Everyworker deserves his wage. The money is there, they want to embezzle it.make una no gree oh
