Ondo, Edo, Abia, Cross River and Imo State still have lesser allocations in spite of the additional 13% derivation. What would have been of them without the add. |

Ngwakwe: Ondo, Edo, Abia, Cross River and Imo State still have lesser allocations in spite of the additional 13% derivation.Cross River State is not an oil producing State. Ondo's status is a fraud perpetrated by OBJ and Ibori, how many Oil wells do you find in Abia. Allocation is based on amount oil quantity. Akwa Ibom State, Delta, Rivers and Delta literally are the Bread Winners of all Nigerian States. |

From the Allocations received by FG and States according to the figures tabled above, there have been unfair comparison of level of developments between some rich and poor states. |

Only Baba God knows what the governors do with these billions, internally generated revenue is not even included. The annoying part of is that everybody focus on Abuja, people are not ready to ask their governors what they do with the billions of naira allocated to them monthly. When Beaf was around, he asked the question severally but what he got was insults from the opposition. |

this is intersting. I just recollected when Lam Adesina was collecting 650 million before it was raised to 1.2 billion folllowed by Ladoja with 3 billion naira. Now i realized that Oyo state is now earning 25 billion monthly. Wao! Let me sit down and think about this. 1 Like |

Going by what I'm seeing here, all Governors have performed exactly same in comparison to what they get apart from a few cases. The worst Governor is Uduaghan. Delta is in the league of super rich States like Rivers and Akwa-Ibom but nothing to show for all the money. Bayelsa is understandably very riverine State and hence the slow achievements in infrastructure. Uduaghan where has all the Delta money gone? |

Can someone explain why Borno, kaduna, kastina, Niger and some other Norther states get more allocation than Abia, Imo and Anambra states? The SE states are oil producing, have commercial cities that generate revenue for the FG thru tax and import duties: then why the disparity? |
Re: State Allocations For May, 2013. by Ngwakwe: 9:03am On Jun 20, 2013 |
We have allocations that States and their LGAs maintain common purse . The formula for these allocations in relation to the number of LGAs is mysterious and omirimious to say the lest. Below is the STATE ALLOCATION FOR MAY 2013 |

This allocation could not have been for one month.Akwa ibom's Monthly allocation used to fluctuate between 16 and 14 billion Naira while that of Delta hovers around 11 and 8 billion naira. Me think this figure is for the 1st quarter of the year plus Excess crude oil account plus local Government allocation. |

Can someone tell us the formula they used in getting at the allocations because there are disparities which is hard to reconcile with. I'm aware of the oil producing status, number of local governments and I'm still aware of IGR and some states like Abia and Anambra generate loads of IGR for the government. What of the Ecological funds and excess crude reserves? |
Re: State Allocations For May, 2013. by ojubi(m): 9:37am On Jun 20, 2013 |
Bornu and Yobe earns more money than cross river state and latter someone will blame poverty in the north for terrorism. BTW why will any reasonable person see the allocation table and still blame GEJ for under developing his state? With this allocation federal government will pay workers from Badagery to Maidugury including the armed forces and still do projects in the states. The fundamental question is what are governors doing with their money? |

ABIA. 17LGCS. 17.48BN IMO. 27LGCS. 21.9BN The above is why i say this fuc/king country is shortchanging Ndigbo and holding us down! If there was 'proper' fiscal federalism, states like Abia and Imo would have been able to fully use their natural resources of oil and gas, and just pay tax to the centre......how the fuc/k can they lay claim to being an oyel producing state with such a pathetic income from said resource? |

Mazi_Omenuko: Can someone explain why Borno, kaduna, kastina, Niger and some other Norther states get more allocation than Abia, Imo and Anambra states? The SE states are oil producing, have commercial cities that generate revenue for the FG thru tax and import duties: then why the disparity? That why there must always be almajiris in the north (about 11million of them at the last count). The almajiri system serve the following purpose for the northern elite: - boost population figure. The more population you have in your state, the more federal allocations you get. That means more money for the elite. A ridiculous system that rewards dependency. - sea of heads during campaigns. The almajiris account for the sea of heads you see in political rallies of core northern politicians - boost electoral votes. The almajiris have tremendous electoral value - ethnoreligous crisis. The almajiri system is a tool in the hands of the elites to unleash mayhem in the north. Now you know why no northern politician is interested in stopping the almajiri system. 2 Likes |

idumuose: This allocation could not have been for one month.Akwa ibom'sI think so too. But the reality is that so much money goes to the states and we should begin to demand accountability from our respective state governors. Also the formula for sharing the funds to the various states is skewed, unfair and ridiculous. Can you imagine that states like Yobe and Borno earn more than oil producing southeast states? 1 Like |

Poverty is a relative term by the way, the wealth of a people lies with their hardworking, career and trained work force who are ready to take challenges and work without depending on the government. Remember those cry babies of Fuel Subsidy Removal (instead of fuel voucher distribution per voter), always dependent of what the Government will do for them while contributing less for development of the country. Provided the South East by extension Ndigbo continues to provide the much needed services in transportation, trade and commerce, import and export, craft and workmanship, education and technology etc, poverty will never have a foothold in the East whilst street begging will remain infinitesimal to say the lest.
