I cant imaging what the news will be; if an ACN politician was on that Aircraft. some folks would have spun all sorts of political stories and permutations. The president would have been brought to Niraland slaughter house; and no one would have waited a second to reason objectively.

This ain't strange though.Hope we're not leaving out the operators of the aircarrier out of this mess. One still continues to wonder how & why a service scheduled to depart Abuja for Uyo at 18:25 was delayed by Arik Air to 21:35 or thereabout. Had their being adherence to schedule this incident most probably would have been avoided. We need stronger regulatory agencies than we presently have in all sectors of our economy if we aim to attain global best practices as we see & hear in other climes.

What you must accept is that Nigeria is a hotbed of incompetence and ineptitude. Do you know how many operations in "General Hospitals"(not private ooo) that were cancelled due to power failure? Or operations that had to be be concluded with battery operated lighting in Nigeria?

Everyday you see the sunrise in Nigeria is cause for joy. Madness does not even begin to describe the state of things. If that plane had experienced a mechanical fault on approach what we will be talking about today is mass loss of life!!

Obi88: Reacting to the incident, Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information Aniekan Umanah told THISDAY that the state government suspected sabotage or human error or both and had set high powered investigation into the matter.

Sabatoge or unprofessional and daft workers?

Must everything be witches and wizards?

It is so shameful that all those lives were put at risk because of carelessness. Anything could have happened while they were circling or on their way back to Abuja. Its a real pity.
lomomike: This goes along way to show how we Nigerians handling positions manage these positions. Are the airport staffs and technicians not suppose to be on shift or standby? No matter how small a position is pls let's not toy with it for Goodness sake. Imagine key to the generator goes missing at a critical moment when the Power supply is most needed which foreigner would hear this story and look @ Nigeria as a joke or an unserious nation. So if the plane were to be undertakin an emergency landing due to low fuel or a malfunction so this is how people would perish? If the oga generator isn't serious with his job abeg let him be relieved of his duty and replaced ASAP. Joooor Oº°˚˚°

Symphony007: Rather than return all the way to abuja, why did'nt they just divert to port harcourt? What a waste of time and jet fuel.
i know that is what people like u will say, u could also act in like manner as the gateman who went away with the key. is it not better to return the passengers to where they are coming from rather than take them to port harcourt. u think flight scheduling is like entering your car and drive to park whereevr u like. think globally bro not locally.

sack the evil man, on power management, that would have been the first Uyo air crash. Uyo airport must pay damages to the Arik air and passengers. passengers should also avoid Uyo airport pending investigation and compasation.

Peterwins:

Are these stories for real? Hmmmm!!!! Is this how airports are operated in Nigeria. Are the generators not on standby mode? This must be a joke.

My broda, if it's not lost keys, it's no fuel, or no oil
