Against NCC Sim Registration Dealine...my Experience by naijazown(m): 2:13am On Jun 29, 2013
Having received several messages warning about NCC's 30th June deadline for sim registration, I hurried to Round-about area in Mokola, Ibadan, to register my sim (I'm usualy a last-rush person...my bad).

I got a shabby looking NCC agent inside Conoil fuel station and demanded to be registered, he insisted I must purchase a sim card for #200 or buy a recharge card for #200 before he can register me. I refused paying this, knowing registration is free.

Moving on to the next agent around the former phone market in Round-about, an agent I met there said his laptop battery isn't charged, hence can't register me.

Now in Cocoa-House area of Dugbe, Ibadan, I met the worst. Agents around here insisted I purchase a #500 recharge card before I could be registered. I ended up journeying to the various offices of the networks I use before my sim was successfully registered...After a long wait.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one who had this experience and perhaps, does NCC know about this extortion by its agents?
Will 30th June deadline be a reality?

That is the price you pay for being a 'last rush' person

I haven't registered my glo line yet...I'm waiting to see what the penalty would look like. grin

Truth is I'm busy during the week, and they don't open their office on weekends...I did register it around May with a quack agent, and after paying N200 to the girl, I kept on receiving text messages that my line wasn't registered.

I called their call center and informed them, they were like I should come to their office...I told them I don't have that luxury of time to spare and that if my line eventually gets blocked, I would forget about it...I hate incompetence.
