By: Agency Report on July 23, 2013 - 1:48pm

Gov. Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State said on Tuesday that all was set to receive President Goodluck Jonathan in the state on July 29.

The governor stated this when he led other top government officials to inspect the new Federal High Court complex that would be inaugurated along other projects in the state by the president.

Al-Makura also inspected the LGEA Primary School, Bukan Sidi, also calledTanko Al-Makura (TA’AL) Model School; the Lafia East Road project connecting Lafia East Project Quarter and Government House Bye-pass.

Al-Makura said that the model school thatwas a two-storey building was a new concept designed by his administration to improve on the standard of education in the state.
He also appreciated the level of work on the project as most ofthe critical areas were nearing completion.

The governor also inspected a helipad under construction at the Government House where the president would be received, and expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the site.

Meanwhile Lafia, the state capital, is wearing a new look as buildings along Shendam Road, leading to Government House have been painted.

Other renovated structures included Lafia City Hall and Hotel, and the Presidential Lodge. (NAN)

Jonathan please avoid that useless , good for nothing state july 29 was the date that the Evil coup of 1966 started

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Civil_War

In the face of provocation from the southern-dominated media which repeatedly showed humiliating posters and cartoons of the slain northern politicians on the night of July 29, 1966, northern soldiers at Abeokuta barracks mutinied, thus precipitating a counter-coup, which may very well have been in the planning stages The counter-coup led to the installation of Lieutenant-Colonel Yakubu Gowon as Supreme Commander of the Nigerian Armed Forces, despite the intransigence of Mohammed who wanted the role of Supreme Commander for himself. Gowon was chosen as a compromise candidate. He was a Northerner, a Christian, from a minority tribe, and had a good reputation within the army. Ethnic tensions due to the coup and counter-coup increased and more mass pogroms in July and September 1966 took place. See large-scale massacres of Christian Igbo living in the Muslim north.[13]

If the trip is not relevant it should be cancelled in place of other state functions or a Minister for special duties can go and commission what ever worthless projects that Al Makura has.
This state was responsible for the loss of more than 100 service men some weeks ago, why would the Governor an APC /CPC governor not wait till after the fasting to invite Jonathan. when viewed with the recent visit of some idle Governors to 2 former heads of states and the comment of a former head of state that the Crises in Rivers State could lead to a coup

Read the report again but this time S-L-O-W-L-Y.

The projects mentioned in the report are:
1. the new Federal High Court complex
2. the LGEA Primary School, Bukan Sidi, also called Tanko Al-Makura (TA’AL) Model School
3. the Lafia East Road project connecting Lafia East Project Quarter and Government House Bye-pass
4. helipad under construction

Just four projects in 2yrs. That is ABYSMAL and UNPRECEDENTED FAILURE. Where is the bullet train?

The only good news in the report is the visit of the president to an opposition controlled state. It further shows that this president does not play politics of bitterness or hate.

I THOUGHT THIS MAN WAS IN THE CPC. I HOPE THE FANATICAL RAUF HAS HEARD THIS. LET HIM BORROW A LEAF FROM OTHER SENSIBLE GOVERNORS WHO KNOW WHEN TO FIGHT AND WHEN TO RETREAT, INSTEAD OF AN UTTER DISRESPECT TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT. NASARAWA IS EVEN TOO FAR, LET HIM LEARN THAT FROM OYO, OGUN, ONDO AND EVEN LAGOS GOVERNORS!

And why is Jona-dumbo associating himself with such a failure, bird of a feather flock together?

Jonathan should not be mingling with these Boko Haram infested governors. Almakura as a person comes across as an innocent guy, but his association with the head of Boko Haram, Gen Buhari himself somehow dents him too.

Hypocrisy! Instead of you to criticise the governor for doing only 4 projects in 2yrs. Or have you lost your penchant for criticisms? Ok, no criticisms because it is Buhari's party.

GEJ is the president,so he has no choice.

I don't trust Buhari and his men. The anti-bomb squad should move in and check the areas where presidoo would go during the visit.

This is no surprise, I'm surprised al-makura hasn't decamped to the PDP yet...the PDP has 20 of the 24 state assembly seats and most of the NASS seats, so he has been very cozy with the villa....I still cn't phantom how he won in what is a very strong PDP state, then gov, Doma must have been really unpopular
