Unlike similar posts that just ask generic questions on how to improve Nigerian football, i present a rough draft of ideas and everybody should be willing to contribute.

Fix the NFA and the NFL and place the NFL under the NFA, How?
The NFA is way too big for its purpose, it is an organization of over 50 people which is unnecessary, a lot of employees are just hanger ons that were placed there by colleagues to embezzle money. When Alex Akinyele was there in the mid '90s there were less than 10 employees and they got the job done. Downsize the organization to just 9 workers who would make it lean and very efficient with key positions such as;

President/GM (i can imagine John Fashanu in this position)
Vice President: In charge of all football operations including scouting and logistics
Secetary/Treasurer/fundraiser
Technical director: the guy in charge of all national teams from the falconettes to the super eagles
Lawyer: Legal purposes
Public relations manager
President of the NFL (sunday oliseh comes into mind)
Coach of the national team
Coach of the falcons

After the restructuring, the organization should be run like a business model with the aim of making money. The NFA can make money by owning the rights to the players which means that company's should pay the NFA certain amount of money if they want to use the player for any commercial purposes such as advertising. Another means would be signing lucrative sponsorship deals with the Pumas, Nikes and the Reebok's or using effective fundraising. Also, each federation recieves $7million for participating in the world cup and other millions for participating in the African cup of nations. At the end of the fiscal year this money should be used to create 3 (Lagos, Kaduna, Port Harcourt) world class soccer academies like the prestigious Clairefontaine academy in France which has churned some of the best players in the world such as the Anelka's and the Thierry Henry's and the academies should be run by ex-football players like the Finidi's and the Okocha's under the direct supervision of the vice president.

Reforming the NFL
In order to reform the league to standard, the NFA should pump some of its revenue into the league and make sure every, i repeat EVERY coach should be sponsored to go to Europe to get there UEFA 'A' License for tactics and game preparation, we can't have coaches who don't know the difference between a 4-2-3-1 formation and a 3-3-3-1 formation, and also while they are at it they should get there UEFA Pro License: Every manager at every big club in Europe has this one, it teaches coaches how to manage clubs and players so we don't have any more siasia-mikel clashes any longer. Nigerian coaches should learn that you treat millionaire football players differently from primary school students where you yell and coerce them rather than persuading them to believe in your system. This moves should make the league worth watching and the quality of play much better rather than watching the "kick and follow" football on horrible pitches that in the immortal words of Berti Vogts, not even "Sir Alex Ferguson would let his horses graze on".
To protect the leagues young talent, it should institute a ban on players less than 23 from going overseas, so that our league won't turn into the Argentina or Brazillian leagues where teams from Europe keep poaching their talent thereby detering fans from the stadiums.
Secondly, on the issue of infrastructure, since Nigeria is hosting the next U17 world cup that would not be a problem, maintaining it would, and in order to get money to invest in the league, it would have find larger sponsors (Globacom is not enough) and sign contracts with other TV networks.
Another important way to raise money for the league is through merchandising, the teams would have to create lots of merchandises from Enyimba jerseys to bubble heads of star players, with this revenue it can pay the players well so they would have to end up in Bangladesh or Shanghai FC. It should also try to attract old superstars like the Okocha's or the Kanu's to play one season before they fully retire, this would attract a lot of fans to the stadiums who want to see there heroes last hurrahs. The clubs should buy the stadiums they use from the state or federal govts so that it can raise revenue from the stadiums by charging season tickets (minimum 100,000 naira: VIP seating should cost more) for home games and ordinary game tickets for 10,000 naira. Also, since the clubs own the stadium they can raise revenue for other non-footballing events like, NUGA games, All Africa games, Independence day and Children's day parades, political rallies, and it should charge schools who host inter-house sports at the stadium. This way the clubs not only make enough revenue but they can maintain the facilities.

To improve the integrity of the league, there should be a refree review board: a group of independent refs that reviews every game to check if there was any irregularities and to maintain the integrity of the league.

Feel free to add any more ideas.

Who told you John Fashanu is trustworthy? If you don't know, he is more crooked than many born and bred Nigerians.

What you are proposing is communism. You will quickly see Nigerian footballers revoking their passport and running abroad quicker than you can say "Cuban boxer".

FIFA already have a rule to restrict the recruitment of non-EU players under 18. That is why Alex Pato had to wait till January to make his debut for Milan.

Plus all 23 year old Nigerian players are 30 years old anyway.

Then we should use bone marrow testing. I know its only accurate to within 18 months but i can live that. Also, we have to protect our future Pato's and Messi's so that they don't run away abroad remember this guys are supposed to be the star attractions of the Enyimbas and Julius Berger's.

There is no problem getting players for the Enyimbas or Julius Bergers. The thing that is killing Naija league is corruption. Referees are always getting bought so you never see away victories in the League. You will see like a 15 point spread between the Champions and last place. League wont even start because NFA and NFL are fighting over who will pick the referees. What kind of league is this? It defeats the purpose. Even Enyimba chairman recently resigned because of all this nonsense. Everybody don tire for their nyamanyama abeg. That is why all those who should be supporting local league are now supporting Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd.

what is the fa doing to improve the nigerian league. the game needs big sponsors, the packaging has to be okay and most importantly, coverage has to be outstanding. a situation where a kid of 7 can name all the starting 11 of famous clubs in europe and cannot even name 6 players in any nigerian football club is shameful. one cannot blame these kids. he doesn't get to see nigerian football league players on tv.

faux! one can never have free and fair assessment of the games in nigeria because nigeria is not an enabling environment for such. if nigerians can rig elections and bribe law enforcers, people will get to those referees. my cousin told me it is nearly impossible to have away victories in the globacom league. referees are so scared the home fans will get violent and take his life. is that football?

@cougar
All you are doing is knocking my points, why don't you contribute ideas instead of accepting the status quo, you sound like most typical Nigerians, they never contribute, all they do is criticize.
