Military traditions differ from country to country. Ours is a massive drilling of new cadets/ recruits by asking them to perform extreme stances.

These drills are meant to harden the soldier.

incidents like this where two terrorist couple held police for hours at bay by even lobbing grenades ,only to be eliminated by members of our Kenya GSU recce squad.gives me confidence of this unit

SANDF has or will participate in the following exercises just the few months I've been back from DRC: cool

1) Exercise Red Lion - Navy in the lead, Air Force;

2) Exercise Young Eagle - Combined, primarily Army-led;

3) Exercise Mahombekombe - SADC Special Forces, ongoing;

4) Exercise Blue Okavango - SADC Air Forces;

5) Air Power Cap Demo - Air Force, with Pathfinders and Paras;

6) Exercise Oxide - binational, Navy, Air Force, 4 RECCE, 5 RECCE, with France;

7) Exercise Amani Africa - Continental, combined with Army in the lead.

This is definitely the best confidence drill i've watched in ages. I remember watching it for the first time when this video first came out....... Boy ...... My job almost fell in excitement.

Recruits in most armed undertake such after basic and special military training.

Well in the pic the chap posted looks like young recruits getting beaten during basics.

this is an annual Kenya open shooting championship of members of security agencies and even some members of the public .they use the 7.62 x 51 round

African technology

The South African made Denel 155mm G6-45 self propelled howitzer(slightly modified) the UAE armed forces in Yemen.

When using(G6-45 version) the Rheinmetall Denel Munition Assegai 155mm rocket assisted shells it can interfere with enemy movements or plans 54km away.

The newer G6-52 when using the same ammunition it was in tests fired up to 73km.

Well considering they have never lost a hostage, and killed a sh1t load of criminals to the lose of 0 operators, ill be scared sh1tless if I was a criminal to!

A few have been killed, but not many. I know in the late 90's or early 2000 an operator was travelling with a cash van as security (when cash heists spiked during those times, the police sometimes escorted them). They apparently emptied a full magazine into him, before going after the cash.
