This 9-3-3-4 System of Education was a complete failure.All thanks to Dr. Obi Ezekwesili who enforced the 9-3-4 system coupled with the privatization of unity schools even when the system was not ready.

I remember visiting some federal government schools at the time and saw that JS1-JS3 Students were made to have different school uniforms and were separated from senior students.

Some even had physical demarcations with different entrance gates.

Only good thing bout it was to minimize bullying in school.

Anyways 1-6-3-3-4 or 6-3-3-4 are all the same technically.

But why spend over 17 years schooling only to come out and find that there is no job out there.

This country has one of the worst unemployment statistics in the world.The powers that be are just manipulating the figures and hiding the truth.

Something really needs to be done about our secondary school structure too. We currently take too many subjects without adequate depth. 4 years for O levels and 2 years for a A levels wouldn't be a bad idea at all. This system seems to work pretty well in some African countries
