Glaring signs of a failed educational country.Nigerian educational problem is in the 1-9 system. If you want my candid opinion Nigeria should go back to the normal advance level system like all order countries do and stop forcing things that won`t work down the students throat.
Teach the kids how to be self confident and they should organize trips to other countries .
Lecturers /Profs should be productive and challenged towards solving all problems in Nigeria using their know-how in divers field of knowledge especially in Mathematics and applied physics.
FG should stop building universities that are not purely technically based. What Nigeria needs now is a viable functional technical university for fabrication ,hi-tec and molld construction using highly experienced technicians in the field as lecturers.Nigerians has had enough theories what we need now is applied technical/practicals that is the ONLY way forward towards technological growth in the near future.

All Nigerian lecturers and Profs should be investigated and challenged in all fields and those who can not stand the test of time should be made to exit. The free hand extortion policy going on in the tertiary institutions of learning unnoticed is highly pitiful because some are carrying abusive violating policies that goes on unchecked.

Kairoseki77: 1. Preschool can help combat crime, teen pregnancy, and high school dropout rates. When children have the benefit of a high-quality early childhood education, they make cognitive and social gains that prepare them to start school. These foundational skills allow them to build on their learning and knowledge through school and into adulthood. As a result, a child without an early childhood education is 25 percent more likely to drop out of school, 40 percent more likely to become a teenage parent, and 70 percent more likely to be arrested for a violent crime.

2. Early childhood education has a better return on investment than the stock market. Some policymakers worry about the upfront cost of early childhood education. However, studies show that early childhood education is one of the best investments we can make—and that includes investments in the financial market. The estimated return on investment for high quality early childhood education is ten percent. In comparison, the average return on investment in the stock market is 7.2 percent.
Why does early childhood education pay off so well? Children who participate need fewer services over the course of their lifetime. The benefits show up almost right away, with reduced need for special education and grade retention, which costs taxpayers an estimated $7,500 per child. Over time, we reap benefits when these children become adults and need fewer public benefits and are less likely to be incarcerated.

In Ypsilanti, Michigan, 3- and 4-year-olds from low-income families who were randomly assigned to a group that did not receive preschool education were five times more likely to have become chronic lawbreakers by age 27 than those who did receive it.

The aforementioned study also found that low-income individuals who were enrolled in a quality preschool program earned on average, by age 40, $5500 per year more than those who were not. Furthermore, the study found that low-income people who were in preschool programs as a child are more likely to graduate from high school, own homes, and have longer marriages. Another study, The Abecedarian Project, shows that low-income children in quality preschool programs are less likely to repeat grades, need special education, or get into future trouble with the law.

All over the world ppl are coming up with educational systems that suit their environment and here you giving us statistics from the US where children carry guns to school. Education is part of culture and so our culture should determine our educational system that will be all-encompassing that will be good for all. Pre-school, what is the meaning of this and when is a child expected to start schooling. I think the existing system is good if only govt is sincere by funding it adewuately; the govt that cannot fund the 6334 can never be able to fund the new system because of the technicalities involved. I just hope they will listen.

...still a 6-3-3-4 fan. I benefited from it when it was newly implemented in late 80's/90's. Is it the quality of education, vocational facilities or the research that brought about the system? I beg, nothing do that system. They should go back and implement those contect that were either badly executed or abandoned. God bless Nigeria...
