The Nigerian military has announced that it has killed the deputy leader of the Boko Haram sect during onslaught against the group in Borno State.

The military Joint Task Force, JTF, said it killed Momodu Bama – aka Abu Saad – on August 4, during an offensive by the sect on a Mobile Police Base, and Bama Town.

Abu Saad was Boko Haram’s Operation Officer and second in command to Abubakar Shekau and was one of the most “vicious and heartless killer in the group with penchant for slaughtering his victims,” the military said in a statement on Tuesday.

Before his death, the JTF placed a N25 million bounty on him.

The military said Abu Saad was killed alongside his father, Abatcha Flatari, who was described as “one the spiritual mentors” of Boko Haram.

He was “in charge of indoctrinating child foot soldiers who are mainly abducted children,” Sagir Musa, spokesman of the Borno JTF, said in the statement.

The military increased its offensive on the sect and other criminal groups in three northeastern states – Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe – after a State of Emergency was declared there in May.

GET SHEKAU DOWN AND SHOW US HIS DEAD BOBY, PERIOD! ALL THIS DECEPTIVE CAPTIONS ALWAYS MADE ME SICK. BESIDES HOW MANY SECOND IN COMMANDS OR DEPUTIES WAS HE ELEGIBLE TO GET ACCORDING TO THIER HARAM CONSTITUTION? I THINK THIS IS THE FIFTH TIME I'M COMING ACCROSS THE NEWS OF KILLING A DEPUTY, ASSISTANT, VICE AND NEXT IN COMMAND TO SHEKAU.
BACK TO SHEKAU HIMSELF HOW MANY SHEKAU OF BOKOHARAM DO WE HAVE? YOU DONT NEED TO GO TOO FAR SEARCHING, EVEN HERE @NL WE HAVE SEVERAL THREADS OF DIFFERENT SOURCES TELLING US SHEKAU WAS KILLED.
AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED SHEKAU IS THE BOKOHARAM BECAUSE HE IS THE ONLY PERSON WHOSE VEDIO IS GOING ROUND AND IS OPENLY CLAIMING RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ATTACKS. THEREFORE BETTER STOP TELLING US ABOUT GHOSTS OKEY? HUNT SHEKAU DOWN PLEASE AND BRING THE SAD STORY INTO AN END.

"The military events of both World Wars have proved anew that the capitalistic countries are paramount also in armaments production. No foreign aggressor can destroy capitalist civilization if it does not destroy itself. Where capitalistic entrepreneurship is allowed to function freely, the fighting forces will always be so well equipped that the biggest armies of the backward peoples will be no match for them. There has even been great exaggeration of the danger of making the formulas for manufacturing “secret” weapons universally known. If war comes again, the searching mind of the capitalistic world will always have a head start on the peoples who merely copy and imitate clumsily." - Ludwig von Mises, Human Action
