Danhumprey: Not again! This is bad news. We have just recently come out from a banking revolution,in which alot of banks were exposed and consequently liquidated. And now,another cankerworm has been open. This would definitely diminish investors,depositors and customers confidence. What is Mallam Sanusi doing?He is asking you to be careful, that is his work. But seriously, they should have listed the sound banks since after all the revolution some banks have refused to learn. That will have made the exercise worthwhile. |

This kind of report are better kept from public, or else it can cause panic where people will start withdrawing their money from banks, they should focus on necessary actions to strengthen those banks not classified as sound |

Then: 6. Zenith Bank 7. Stanbic IBTC 8. Standard Chartered Also 9. Diamond Bank 10. Skye Bank (This one is still a big Shocker).. Now the rest like 11. Heritage bank 12. FCMB 13. Keystone Bank 14. Mainstreet Bank 15. Enterprise Bank 16. CitiBank 17. Fidelity Bank 18. Access Bank 19. Bank PHB 20. Equitorial Bank 21. Wema Bank 22. Oceanic Bank (Now owned by Ecobank. ) Thats all.. Mr Aboki: Bank PHB ke? Are you sleeping on Okada. Where is Unity bank in your list ? How did you assess Citi bank and categorised ?. My point is that brands can be deceptive,that bank you feel is so strong could be a whitewashed tomb, Intercontinental bank , Oceanic Bank and Bank PHB comes to mind 3 Likes |

Why not just publish the names of the healthy banks so they get more patronage and the sick banks buckle up.. This report is baseless as far as I'm concerned. |

No Nigerian bank is sound! They are all struggling. The signs are here: They keep laying off hundreds of staff yearly, inventing charges and deducting money from customers' accounts in a struggle to sustain. For a bank to deduct unnecessarily fees from a deposited fund instead of adding interest, is that normal? Are they not meant to trade with deposits and pay interest on such deposits? Rather, some of their policies and actions sound more like "why bank with us" than "thanks for banking with us" These are even more common in those banks we deem "mega". ...and so no Nigerian bank is sound! ...fashy all those their profit posting. In my opinion, NDIC itself is not even sound enough to tell which Nigerian bank is sound. 2 Likes |
