American forces are "ready" to launch strikes on Syria if President Barack Obama chooses to order an attack, US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel says. "We have moved assets in place to be able to fulfil and comply with whatever option the president wishes to take," Mr Hagel told the BBC. US Secretary of State John Kerry has said there is "undeniable" proof that Syria used chemical weapons. The UK Parliament is to be recalled on Thursday to discuss possible responses. Prime Minister David Cameron said the world could not stand idly by after seeing appalling scenes of death and suffering caused by suspected chemical weapons attacks. The crisis follows last Wednesday's suspected chemical attack near the Syrian capital, Damascus, which reportedly killed more than 300 people. French President Francois Hollande said France was "ready to punish" whoever was behind the attack, and had decided to increase military support for Syria's main opposition. |

hotmas911: why do u think so? Because there is too much instability in that region, the war will not stop even if Assad is removed from power, the confict will spread to other nations. This is going to get messy |

Horus:i agree with u but if Obama can not give the order it shows he's week cos the line he drew has been crossed. I can bet he will give the order except there is evidence Assad didnt use the chemical. And beside, france and uk are both eager to see Assad's exit. |
