Yahoo China has now shut it door in China. A visit to Yahoo China leaves a good-bye message before redirecting users to now.taobao.com.

now.taobao.com a news site operated by Alibaba. This is not a strange news as it is part of plans by Alibaba to take over all yahoo-branded services it operates in China.

In 2012, there was a pact between Yahoo and Alibaba Group. Shutting down Yahoo Chinese portal was part of the agreement but employers were also taken into consideration which provides room for Yahoo China employees to move over to Alibaba for new positions.

I read about Jack Ma, Alibaba Owner yesterday in the magazine THE WORLD IN 2007.
In 2005 Mr Ma cut a splashy deal with Yahoo! giving up 40% of his company in exchange for $1billion and the right to tun Yahoo's struggling Chineese operation.
