I am still finalizing data for my first android app. It is taking more time than I expected but I will provide the link for testing this weekend. First App almost done. I will also release my second android application together with the first one. The second application is a simple app that focuses on students planning to start their final certificate or degree thesis. The app provides more than 5000 thesis or dissertation topics from different programs / courses. Users can easily go to their course / program of choice and get a suggestion about a thesis topics. You can easily modify any topic provided in the app to suit what you are planning to research on. More topics will be added at interval. Also, the application contains quality articles on how to write thesis, how to write thesis proposal, how to use reference in your thesis and much more. This is the first screen shot below |

Nice app How did youy get your emulator to run. I'm currently forced to stop my android lesson as i can't even run my first app the dams emulator just keeps on running |
Re: Nigerian Made Android Apps for Android Phones by nollyj: 5:16pm On Sep 13, 2013 |
curiouslad: Nice app The emulator comes with eclipse ADT plugin. But the emulator runs very slow and it might be frustrating if your system does not have a good processing power. I usually use my android phone for testing because it is faster than the emulator |

jboy01: Nice app bro. Am currently into desktop app using vb.net but planning combinning it with android using C# with mono for android. Since android is rulling the mobile world. Since you have got experience in app development, it will be easier to switch to android. I have used C# but not for android so cant say much in this area. If you have the passion and time and wish to take a new adventure into android world, just go for it. I am work on my android projects on my free time. |

Re: Nigerian Made Android Apps for Android Phones by nollyj: 12:35am On Sep 15, 2013 |
Javanian: On playstore, the default language for your second app is not English. I did not see any option to change the store listing default language. One possible solution might be to delete and re-upload it again. Did you know of any option. Thanks |

Hi,I really love dis thread. Am just starting to learn Java,I plan on going for a course soon but am kinda confused which of them will boost my interest in Java and of cos make me really know java. I plan on developing mobile apps too later.am fnking either J2ee,J2ME etc ,which do u recommend. |
Re: Nigerian Made Android Apps for Android Phones by nollyj: 2:51pm On Sep 15, 2013 |
Javanian: I think since the application content is in English, I will leave it like that for the time been. I might reupload it later. |
Re: Nigerian Made Android Apps for Android Phones by nollyj: 2:56pm On Sep 15, 2013 |
o.s horlabyC: J2EE is for enterprise application while J2ME is for java mobile application. I think if you what to build Java applications on your own in a short time you can choose J2ME or SE. Enterprise might involve much for a single developer. Best of luck |

After I have finished my first and second android app, I decided to give MTN App developers Challenge a try although I am not planning to win but if I win I will still be glad. The app I will submit is an android Education Application. A brief description of the application is shown below. This Edu App is targeted to Nigerian Students in Senior Secondary School. It covers most of the major subjects in WAEC, NECO and JAMB exams. Students can read a comprehensive tutorials on different Students Students can take an assignment Students can take a quiz or download past exam questions and current exam time table etc. I will be updating this project at interview. If you have a question and or suggestions, feel free to drop it. I am also looking for someone who I will collaborate with on this project/challenge. Your main duty will be more of a data entry to the database. If anyone is interested and you are good with database management system (SQLite) just drop your email and I will contact you. The screen shot of the work in progress is shown below. I appreciate all you comments 2 Likes |
