HE MEETS SHE _______________ He meets she. She meets he. From the wells of romantic emotion, Their hearts wander around a notion. Could it be love? Or lust hovering like Noah's dove? Ay! Cupid laughs wickedly, Ready to shoot his arrow speedily. He chases, And she responds in phases. He withdraws, And she fidgets like a market woman who lost her purse. Cupid pays no heed to the pause, He fancies no loss. Stretching his bow, He unites she to he's marrow. _____________________________ Poetic freestyle. Whatever it means, mehn. CAN'T HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS (Inspired by Van Persie) I can’t have the best of both worlds No matter how I convince myself in sweet words I have to sacrifice the other for one Either pleasure or fun The choice between being an excellent player Or an excellent worker One a slave, The other a fave, Just one master Two makes a disaster I can’t have the best of both worlds Just like I can’t have two gods I can’t have the best of both worlds Neither can earth’s lords. **Got stuck while writing this; rhyme failed me (end rhyme and double rhyme, I think I'll start harnessing metaphors and wordplay). Still gave it my best shot though. Criticize freely, I want to get better. 2 Likes |
