Commencement of Drilling
Operations at Oyo-7 Well
HOUSTON, Sept. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CAMAC
Energy Inc. (NYSE MKT: CAK) ("the Company"wink has
been informed by Allied Energy PLC ("Allied"wink that
drilling operations at the Oyo-7 well commenced on
September 9, 2013 using Transocean's Sedneth 701
drilling rig. The drilling of the pilot hole to assess
shallow hazards around the Oyo-7 location was
successfully completed. The rig is being positioned over
the actual Oyo-7 location after which drilling operations
will continue.

Oyo 1, OML 120 and OML 121 are off the coast of delta state but in the deep zone ie beyond the 200 nautical miles range and hence state govt does not get 13% derivation from such well.
The field is called oyo but not any way close to oyo state. hope this answers your question.

One can almost plot the outline of the boundary between Rivers and the South Eastern states using the oil wells.....Gowon and his helpers did a sterling job! wink

not true thats not a conclusive map of oil fields in nigeria i just choose the one that clearly shows the location of the oyo oil field.

^^^Could you provide a comprehensive map of all the 'active' oil wells, or a link/reference? I'd like to know what exactly Abia and Imo have as they seem to receive an insignificant derivation payment.....esp' Abia that wears the toga of 'oil producing state'!

How many local govt areas produce oil in abia/imo states vis-avis Rivers , Bayelsa or Delta state b4 u talk of significant and insignificant. U like to politicise and tribalise everything in Nigeria.
