The NANS Senate successfully concluded its Preconvention Senate Meeting Yesterday Sept, 28th, 2013; plese find attached the Communique. Please share my piece to save NANS from the hands of miscreants and FG! Where in NANS have student ever held Senate Meeting on arrival day? Ayefele claimed they had Senate Meeting on Friday 27th Sept, 2013, at Uni Port, a venue different from RSUST, which is the one in the Notice of Pre-Convention Senate Meeting. Article 15, sub-section 1 & 2 of the NANS Constitution under Functions of the NANS Senate President has these to say: (1)The Senate President shall summon meetings of the Senate. (2) He shall preside over and direct the proceedings of the Senate without fear or favour, please verify http://www.nans.com.ng/nans-blueprint/nans-constitution/. Now, who summoned and presided over Ayefele's charade in Uni Port? Did you see my face anywhere in the photos they are pasting about, nor that of any SUG President, I repeat one SUG President that you recognized? He only filled the hall with cultist to generate photographs for propaganda as he has done. Why did the police and SSS codon-off Uni Port and disallowed genuine and angry students leaders from chasing Ayefele and his rented crowd away? Impunity and corrupting must be halted in our organization! For Ayefele who is not a student, it's strictly business and nothing more. Each progressive step we take like in ASUU/FG impasse, he goes the opposite way and make money. We summoned a legitimate student gathering in Rivers State, only for him to swiftly tell the Presidency that Hon Rotimi Amaechi mobilizing students against President GEJ and as such he should be mobilized with money and security to stop Rotimi Amaechi from using student against Jonathan; meanwhile, unknown to the gullible and very petty Presidency, Ayefele was scheming to elude answering to the barrage of allegations against him before the Senate, and the subsequent disciplinary measure that would be taken against him: (1) He heartlessly misappropriated and embezzled the sum of N12 million donated by individuals, Governors, and Education Ministry for the burial of the NANS late Senate President, Comrade Donald Onukaogu and four others who died in a ghastly motor accident (2) His compromise on the ASUU/FG impasse which aggravated the dispute and provoked the civil society into taking NANS to the cleaners, thus dragging NANS reputation to a state of disrepute, (3) Partisan activities, by endorsing Ifeanyi Uba over Comrade Tony Nwoye, (former NANS President) in the Anambra forthcoming Guber Election (4) He is unable to prove his studentship status, (5) The inability of the NANS EXCOS under his watch, to organize a single program for the upliftment of Nigerian students, after nine months into the one year tenure of the current NANS leadership and (6) He was required to produce copies of NANS Statement of account on the Senate floor.
