modalities for a proposed national
conference.
Mr. Jonathan said in his Independence Day
anniversary broadcast to the nation Tuesday
morning that the committee has one month
to design a framework for a national
dialogue capable of defusing tension across
the country.
Former senator and Afenifere chieftain, Femi
Okurounmu will chair the committe while a
former National Youth Leader of the Peoples
Democratic Party, Akilu Indabawa, will act as
secretary.

Didn't watch the address, is it just national conference or sovereign? Cos the sovereign makes all the difference and if so will make me support this govt till the breakup

@ OP: In 2005, OBJ set up the National Political Reforms Conference, so this will not be the first National Conference set up in the 4th Republic.

Everything about Symphony 007 is wrong. I can bet on this.

What we need is a Sovereign National Conference (SNC), not a National Conference that will end up as another inneffective talk-shop like that of former President Obasanjo. A Sovereign National Conference will not be open to manipulation by legislators, but National Conference can still be debated by legislators. Soon, the Advisory Committee will soon tell us what to discuss and what not to discuss, in the name of "No-Go-Areas". This govt should stop deceiving Nigerians! Say no to the jamboree called National Conference! What we urgently is a SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE!
