PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has approved 13-member Advisory Committee on National Dialogue with Dr. Femi Okurunmu as Chairman.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim who conveyed the appointment of the Committee members in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, added that Jonathan also approved the terms of reference of the Committee.

He added that the Advisory Committee which also has Dr. Akilu Indabawa as the Secretary, will be inaugurated by President Jonathan at the State House on Monday, 7th October, by 10 am.

in as much as I really appreciate ds clarion call to a national sovereign or ethnic conference, I am forced to believe dat d leadership is not bin sincere abt ds, ds is just one way to distract d pple n get dem busy,.. d north is afraid of a sovereign conference,while d south seems dying for such, d way n manner d nations shares her wealth fund is one reason d north will want to kick against it , d formula, very lopsided, d number of local govt in d north far out numbers dat in d south, d north still claims she is more populated than d south, !! how can U EXPLAIN DS.. CAN KANO BE SAID TO BE MORE POPULATED THAN LAGOS STATE? in what area, may be land mark area, but other areas of kano cant compare to lagos, ds is politics at display, most of us dat lived up north knows wot a local govt can sometimes look like in population n land mark!! our amalgamation or marriage ain't working, d south got forced in to ds union by father lord lugard, there was no love at first sight in this relationship.!! ! ds amongst other reasons is y I feel ds might end up anoda fiasco, if it wont be A SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE, NIGERIANS DON'T REALLY NEED IT! ! Waste of money nothing good will come out of it

This sounds like a step in the ryt direction (only if) he is not hoping on using dis as a campaign strategy, he may prolong the conference till end of 2014 and tell Nigerians to vote him so he can complete his "National conference meeting" project then probably after getting voted in, he changes his mind. By that tym we are phucked.
He already knowns what Nigerians want so he will use dat against us by dangling the worm knowing dat d fish will bit. sounds like politics 101 (tell d people what dey wanna hear, den do what u want after dey vote u). Well sha time will tell. God Bless Nigeria
