That means some phantoms are waterproof ? My spidex flew off suddenly and crashed into water. It took 2 days to find it. The battery was swollen . I wonder if it will fly again .

I will pay anything for water safe drone. That means I can fly under rain!

Sad news about your Spidex. Yeah the guys in the video will 'waterproof' your Phanthom... from the info -
"Super-Hydrophobic Watersafe Technology can withstand limited exposure to any body of water***
Protect your Phantom from the elements (e.g. rain, snow, moisture condensate, mud, etc.)"

Hiya, yes I saw it a few days ago. There are a couple of major problems which I'm sure you're already aware of -
1) There is only one type of shot - a super wide quadcopter shot.
2) You need a 'pop shield' for your voice over mic.

For even a quick one-day documentary you really need a variety of shots including 'interviews' to keep it interesting. A quad shot is a 'specialty' shot and on it's own doesn't exactly make a doc. In reality it becomes quite tiresome very quickly, even more so as it is just one type of framing with the same thing happening over and over.

I do like the fact that you used diegetic sound instead of just music and a VO. With time & practice you'll get better at what you need to make the 'complete package'. And on the bright side of things you got some good air practice.

Thanks ,Actually I did that deliberately . I just wanted to showcase aerial video only. I wouldn't do that for professional job.Maybe I should have zoomed in more on them

Thanks , correction taken . When I noticed it I actual thought nobody will notice. gringrin

Thanks for your comments .i feel like doing it all over. We must put excellence in everything . Even if it's for play. We don't know where our works will get to.

You're welcome. So we need to call a spoon a spoon, a spade a spade and a cat isn't a dog. So it's not exactly a documentary (yet) ... and for showcasing aerial video you would STILL need a variety of shots. It's like building up a 'showreel'; the aim is to show as many different good things as possible or try to. One type/size of shot definitely gets tedious very quickly.

A variety of shots lol

Lol. Bad sound is ALWAYS the most noticable thing. Remeber the main complait about Nollywood films of old? "Ah you have to watch it with the remote in your hand because of the up and down sound levels." An audience will not forget or forgive bad sound.

Back to point one on showreels... getting a quadcopter up in the air is one thing; the shots that make the cut is another.

Other than the points VillageBoi has pointed out, i think one of the major flaws of this vid is the fact that there is almost no detail to be seen.

Although that has to do more with the quality of camera being used.
For shots like this you need the highest possible resolution to capture as much detail as can be.
It appears your original footage was shot in 480p, which in all honesty will not get the job done.

It is an improvement from your last vid in terms of stability, and i like the circle bit when the players formed it.

In the future,
-Fly a little closer for some of the shots
-Be conscious of natural lighting and plan your shots to take full advantage of this. It appears the sun might have been a little to the right of your frame (maybe behind clouds), so next time consider flying from the opposite direction as this.

Also, consider buying a better camera e.g you can get a pre-owned GoPro Hero 3 for around $200. Keep working on it, and you'll be a pro in no time.

I actuay used a gopro hero3 black edition . It can shoot in 4k though, I shot it it 1080p it's not only that I reduced the quality also during editing . The reason was to make it easy to play for viewers . If it's professional job I would shoot in 2k upwards . But thanks for pointing it out.

How much does the camera cost in Nigeria?

http://gopro.com/ - Info is on their site.

Hope you realise that the GoPro is a 'specialty' camera? You would have a 'very specific' reason for using it like - sports, aerial, underwater and so on. Just Google it and do some research. It is a cool bit of kit... but for what exactly.

What is the possibility of using gopro in a movie where cannon or Red camera is used . Gopro can shoot in 2k.7 and 4k.

Phantom 2 is it Oo. Bigger battery more flight time. But I don't think the gimbal and screen came with it. It's like a third party' accessory .
I did this filming with phantom 1

It can be bought with or without the accessories. Another big difference is all the 'wire' connections have been installed already; no need to open up the Phanthom 2 to have a tinker.

Very cool videos you can correct the fish eye look the gopro gives with cc lens in ae. please how can i contact you ? do you rent the copters?

The go pro is very versatile and the footage can be merged with 7d or 5d footage as long as it's well lit. if not well lit it's grainy. Also high quality memory cards are recommended or it'll just stop recording.

I also like it's time lapse feature which i use a lot - i have hero3 black

a time lapse with go pro:

the gopro used as a regular cam note the clear audio:

hthis video has combined footage from everio camcorder and go pro:
