Lawyer and President Goodluck
Jonathan’s Special Assistant on
Research and Strategy, Mr. Oronto
Douglas, was kidnapped on
Monday night by gunmen in Ogbia
which happens to be President
Jonathan’s Local Government
area.
Street Journal gathered that Mrs
Douglas Ayam was kidnapped at
home after the gunmen had shot
several times to scare people who
might be thinking of rendering
any help. She was immediately
taken away in a boat to an
unknown destination in believed to
be in the creeks. The incident was
confirmed by Hilary Okpara, the
Bayelsa State Commissioner of
Police. He stated that marine
police have been deployed to the
creeks to rescue the victim while a
manhunt for the kidnappers has
been launched.
DSP Alex Akhigbe, the PRO of the
Bayelsa State Command of the
Nigeria Police Force also disclosed
that men of the Anti-Kidnapping
Squad have already been sent
after the abductors. “Very soon,
they will be apprehended”, he
said.
Family sources disclosed that as of
the time of filing the report, the
kidnappers had not made any
