As part of its corporate social responsibility, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, is set to conduct the 2013/2014 screening exercise for the award of scholarships to the best candidate in each of the colleges of the university.
In a statement issued by Mrs Folake Okor, the Acting Registrar, Caleb University, the yearly scholarship offers, which had the approval of the Lagos State Scholarship board, were for deserving Lagos State indigenes who are currently seeking admission into Caleb University.

Mrs Okor further stated that the scholarship offers were part of the university’s contributions to the development of education in Lagos State, as well as in pursuance of the university’s motto: “For God and Humanity”.
The acting registrar said that the university, the only bachelor’s degree awarding private university in Lagos State, would not relent in its efforts in assisting Lagos State indigenes in their quest to get good education, adding that “Caleb University believes that education is the bedrock of a nation and an educated nation is a developed nation.”

She noted that the scholarship scheme was based on the university’s desire to breed a team of graduates that would impact largely and influence the society. “As a responsible corporate social entity, Caleb University is largely concerned about her society and environment. It is just one of our many ways of contributing to nation building,” Okor stressed.
According to her, the scholarship scheme was one of the ways through which the university demonstrates love to the Nigerian students and the society at large, stating that the university believed so much in giving back to the society through its varied corporate social responsibility initiatives, which she noted, had far-reaching effects on the lives of Nigerian students.

It will be recalled that all programmes run by the university, which was licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2007, had been duly accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), while all the professional programmes had their corresponding professional accreditation.

Nice one from Caleb Uni and Lagos government.

I see Caleb university is enjoying the monopolistic nature of private uni. in Lagos(unlike their counterpart in Ogun where private unis are many). The only private university in the state.
