Hello,

I am a nigerwife moving to Nigeria for the winter months, I am wondering how successful a tattoo business would be in the Ikeja area. I am a new tattoo artist but will be importing all my tools and supplies.

I am not sure it would be "profitable" . Reason -
Tattoo is not "totally embraced" by us Africans, . Its still seen as "razz", done by riff raffs . Exception : celebrities esp musicians.

A lot of tattoo salons already existing in that Ikeja axis, their fees are dirty cheap.

Can you handle the competition, over head cost as I'm assuming you are coming down to start a "high tech" tattoo salon ? Would your high tech salon which automatically translate to high cost salon make any difference to a young, hippy gurl/guy who just wants to get an ink at an affordable fee regardless of the "quality" ?

Quality over quantity, I think your target audience would sway towards quantity ie the cheaper it comes, the better.

My opinion.

Hello Mrs Abiodun, I do believe that this could really be a profitable business. I am looking to partner with a tattoo artist on this but on a long term basis. Nevertheless, please do contact me so we can discuss further. tikpeetim@gmail.com or 07063879349. I rarely pick numbers I do not know, so if you prefer to call, you could text and I'll call you right back. Thanks.
