No. You can't use BBM. Go to google.com and search for "Android Phones that will have BBM" you will get your answer just as I did.

It's for 4.0 and above....just have to join teamWhatsapp

i learnt dat installing custom ics or jelly bean cant change d firmware, dat its just customizatn to make dem look like dat...... so how is it gonna allow installatn of bbm?

who told you that? I upgraded a friend's HTC DESIRE AND G2 TO 4.2.2 and they are flexing bbm

in other words it changes everything

those two phones I named earlier are not upgradeable through firmware,the vest they can both go on is 2.3.6 GB... (check my earlier post where I stated you ROOT and install custom ROM I.e developed by an individual or group so it's not from the phone maker herself

I upgraded my HTC Sense Android 2.3.4 version to 4.0.3 following this simple method

step 1: Make sure you have data bundle activated or wi-fi
step 2: Go to settings on your phone click on About phone
step 3: Go to software information to check your current version. If it is 4.0 and above, you can download BBM otherwise follow step 4
step 4: Go to software update and check for available update....then you can update/upgrade your phone to 4.0 version
Step 5: start enjoying apps like BBM, Dstv drifta and many others..

Plz note: it cost me about 350Mb to upgrade and thats why its better to use wi-fi or any unlimited data plan

I installed BBM on HTC chacha that has 2.3 after flashing a 4.2.2 JB Custom ROM. Though it FCs anytime I tried to open iy. But I'm still making my research sha. If its a stock android ROM, it should work.

itz nt all android fones dat can be upgradeable....if u want ur fone to support bbm nd ur fone is nt o.s 4.0 all u need to do is too root ur fone

Check if you have S-OFF before you proceed to rooting!! if not check for how to gain S-OFF for your phone model .
check XDA forum for that

then after rooting ,look for a suitable custom ROM and upgrade!!
