Holding your baby after a period of nine month pregnancy is every woman dream, going through CS(Cesarian Section) for delivery is more challenging than normal delivery my baby is already 7 weeks and I still feel thee pains of stitches and a lot of DONTs. In my case I've a little opening on it and it can be so frustrating that you wish the scar will just disappear there are times when you have the urge to give it a tough scratching because of the way it will be itching you. Is all dis normal for those who have gone through this procedure? Or am I the only one feeling this way it's so frustrating that its almost covering the joys of holding my little cutie.

It's normal.

Give your body time to heal and you won't even remember any of the irritation your experiencing now.

Congratulations mami! smiley

Awwww! I know how you feel. The pain no be small thing o.

For some reason,i opted for elective C.S. After the surgery,my eyes saw my ears! I couldn't
laugh the way i wanted,i couldn't sleep well because i had to always carry my stomach whenever i wanted to change positions on the bed. My uterus was still dancing up and down in my tommy.Urinating was a problem.

Hmmm......baby is 9 months now and i can't remember most of the things i went through! God is indeed wonderful.

Its only a matter of time before you start being your normal self. Take things easy and don't stress too much.

God be with you.

It will heal. If u will opt for elective cs next time, pls do find a good hospital with capable hands to tear and stitch u up.
Its very vital. Apart from the healing needle-like pains ocassionally at d two ends of the tear and seeing the scar, cs is completely safe.
What u feel is normal but make sure its not infested.

Congratulation.

True incase you want to go thru the process again , find a very good hospital that specialises in C.s..I had a CS too and have never experienced any pains whatsoever from day one. The cut was perfectly stiched and I can rock a bikini any day any time. I didn't have a swollen tummy like how people complain to have after having a CS.

Lol, coughing and sneezing nko? I remember how I would suppress the sneeze for as long as possible. When it eventually came, it would feel like the stitches want to rupture cry. There was a time I had a marathon of about 5 sneezes. By the time I was done, I was in tears and great pain. I had to ask the nearest nurse (I hadn't been discharged then) if all the sneezing hasn't ripped the stitches open. She told me not to worry. I asked the doctor to be doubly sure sha
Within two months, the pain had subsided a great deal but the urge to itch was huge. Two and half years and counting, the pain is completely forgotten cool (thank God I had a V birth after sha).

@abisquare, congrats on your bundle of joy. don't worry, the pain will definitely Subside with time. Don't engage in activities that will put pressure on the stitches. Make sure you use antibiotics constantly cos an infection will make healing longer. Use plenty of vitamin C alongside painkillers, you'll be amazed by the healing prowess of vit C. I think someone at health section also advised you to apply shea butter to the wound. That also works, you'll be fine before you know it.

Kisses to your baby kiss

You said you have little opening on it, pls go for check up, so they make sure it's not infected.

I'm sorry, I lost a friend after delivery thru CS. They didn't perform it well and she started seeing mucus from her abdomen.
Before they could rectify it, it late .
Not trying to scare you , but pls ...go and check it out. I take God beg you.

Congrats to your bundle of joy.

Don't complain. It is the price you have to pay for wanting to be a mother. No one said it was going to be easy. If God had not blessed you with a child, you would have jumped from church to church like the average Nigerian desperately seeking for the 'fruit of the womb.' Ain't that so?

Congratulations OP! How is the baby? Speedy recovery and full health in-no-time in JESUS name. Coincidentally I was just asking a female colleague yesterday why delivery by CS is at an all time high. CS use to be a last resort, but women are making 1st choice. So ladies WHY? Is it the modern lifestyle (diet), evolution or stress of the Nigerian society?

The dos and don'ts really matters, it's a matter of time you will get over it but the scratches and pains may come once in a while even after the scar has healed.
