We’ll cause an upset in Nigeria – Ethiopia
Ethiopia’s preparations are in top gear after the arrival of Finland based Fuad Ibrahim in camp ahead of the do or die Nigeria return leg on the 16th November.

Despite the cancellation of an intended friendly against Burkina Faso, coach Sewnet Bishaw has been conducting training in Addis Ababa with 23 players in camp .

Bishaw is delighted that the morale in camp was upbeat and he was happy with the training programme.

“The mood in the camp is very positive. It was disappointing for the Burkina Faso friendly to be cancelled but sometimes this things happen. Our focus is on ahead of the Nigeria game as I always believe anything is possible and we will work on our mistakes “

“It will be a tough match in Nigeria but the truth is that we will fight for the entire 90 minutes as we intend to cause an upset “ he added.

Breaking news: i just saw on CNN and BBC news that all the ANTELOPES in Nigeria have gone into hiding. They tried to find out why, and a professor of zoology explained that the antelopes probably over heard nigerians saying they will celebrate the victory on saturday with antelope meat pepper soup. Currently the price of antelope meat per kilo has tripled due to dis hide and seek game played by d WALYA ANTELOPES in Nigeria. grin

***looks left, looks right, sees hundreds of ethiopians coming, removes shoes and runs like an antelope been chased by a hunter**** grin grin

That was a friendly match.
I'm talking about competitive games ie World and Nations cup qualifiers, and the 2000 Nations Cup.

can any ethiopian player really kick the ball across SE goal post line in calabar while nigerian players are on the pitch? I don't want to even think about that happening on 16th Nov.grin

Once again, that was a friendly. I'm talking about being unbeaten in world cup, nations cup qualifiers and the 2000 Nations cup. The final, which Cameroon won on penalties, is statistically/officially regarded as a draw.

Cameroon DEFEATED Nigeria in the finals of the 2000 African nations cup via penalties. Meaning : Nigeria LOST that competitive match. A football match lost via penalty shoot out is a DEFEAT, not a technical draw. At the blast of the final whistle, a football match is either won, lost, or drawn.

According to how FIFA, CAF, UEFA et al keep statistics, matches that end in a penalty shootout are regarded as draws. That's why when reporting such a match, it's always in the format below:
Nigeria 0-0 England
(Nigeria win 5-3 on penalties).

The only exceptions are matches in which the away goals rule apply. For instance, in the 06/07 champions league, Chelsea beat Liverpool 1-0 at home, while Liverpool beat Chelsea 1-0 at at Anfield. The Anfield match had to go into extra time since the gag score was level; and subsequently went into pks.
Liverpool prevailed in the shootout, but they are still referred to as winners by virtue of the scoreline within regulation time.

The ethiopia coach is still hoping 2 cause an upset, he had is chances of bad bumpy pitch, high altitude, fans and high temperature @ addis-abba, but he screwed it up. I'm just wondering wat his player will play @ calabar wen dere morale is down and d whether is favourable 2 Super eagle.

It is 2 obvious dat dere whether affected our players, victor moses dat cause upset 2 ethiopia during afcon was unable 2 make a complete pass and was unable 2 hold ball @ all because he is used 2 good europe whether..

Only ajepako like emenike and mikel was less affected.

There striker is so poor dey ar unable 2 score clean goal even 1v1

None of dere acclaimed goals sees d back of d net.so wats d point.

With d excellent form of enyeama @ lille FC, since he was able 2 stop falcao frm scoring he will definately stop any ethiopia player.
