The restriction order placed on the operation of commercial motorcyclists on certain roads in the Lagos metropolis by the Lagos State Government is now being flouted by some motorcyclists and security agents.
According to reports, the motorcyclists were now in the habit of plying some of the restricted roads with ease. They are now said to be plying parts of Costain, Funsho Williams Avenue, Ojuelegba, Mobil Road, Apapa and the Ikorodu Road without any fear of being arrested.
The law enforcement agents, in particular, were found to be the major offenders on these restricted routes, as they were always on the roads, without even wearing the usual crash helmets.
An Army Sergeant, who did not want his name mentioned, said that the motorcycle was the only source of transportation for him to be able to get to his office on time.
“How do you expect me to be wasting my precious time

We all knew this policy was bound to fail from day one na. What adequate means of transportation are in Lagos state ? Remember this is a state of about 17 million people which is the size of some small countries and i most times laugh at our politicians when they spout out strange policies which casts a doubt on their thinking abilities. Ok how do you expect uniformed personnel to drop their okadas at home when these vehicle were given to them to ease their transportation ? The LASG should have shown sincerity by providing these officers with approved bikes to use instead of banning them too. Funny country with funny leaders.
