Cooking with 500ml or even a litre of palm oil bought from the store or market is different from ofeakwu made by boiling palm fruits and extracting the oil with lots of water..

There is a lot of difference...taste and quantity of oil...likewise..chewing roast palm fruit is not the same as drinking a cup of palm oil..

Some of my friends said that they like groundnut oil stew but for me,i prefer palm oil stew to ground oil stew.

Btw....it is wrong to translate ofeakwu in english..ofeakwu is simply ofeakwu..


Better to give a stranger the recipe than telling them that ofeakwu is simply palm oil stew which isnt true.

Palm oil stew all the way mehnnnnn! Although it takes away most of the nutrients, I love "bleaching" it longer so its nice and dark before pouring in my puree. I recently learnt that one can even do a mix of both.
