Just got this on AIT now..that the speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly..Haruna Tsokwa is dead..may his soul rest in perfect peace..from God we come..to him shall we all return. The late Taraba Speaker, Haruna Tsokwa
JALINGO, TARABA STATE - Haruna Tsokwa, Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, passed away this morning at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo. He died from a yet-to-be disclosed illness, having been transferred to the medical facility last Thursday.
The fact of the lawmaker's death was confirmed by Kefas Sule, spokesperson to the Acting Taraba State Governor Garba Umar. He said further comments will be made after the deceased's doctors' reports.
Last month, Mr. Tsokwa escaped death when his convoy was attacked.
Mr. Tsokwa supported the Acting Governor, who is also the Deputy Governor, Umar Garba, in the ongoing battle for the control of the state.
He left a wife and four children.
