It is part of the yoruba culture to name their children and give them a special name (Oriki). I noticed that if parents wants to get something from us they recite the oriki just like a short poem which has some kind of connection with us to extent that even when you are angry, you tend to calm.

omo elomiran i ba bora sile ajo aaya imiran ko ba bora sile ajo obo;
Eyi tunmosipe awon babanla wa mo iyi aso pupo wonsi ti n wo orisirisi aso ki babanla alawo funfun to maa woso.
