Delta Exports 5000 Metric Tons Of Kernel Shells From Koko Port

Delta Beyond Oil initiative yesterday received a boost with the flag off of the maiden exportation of 5,000 metric tons of kernel shells in a Denmark bound vessel at Koko Port.
The Governor,Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Kingsley Emu stated that the Delta Beyond Oil is not just a paper document, stressing that the exportation of palm kernel shells is a case of transforming trash into diamond, as these shells were previously seen as of no value and burnt off.
He further stated that government policies like these create endless opportunities, not just for individual benefits, but for the benefit of communities and indeed the nation as a whole as these benefits are enormous.Dr. Uduaghan disclosed that the state government is exploring more avenues of converting waste to cash and pledged support to investors and potential investors, stressing that the administration is irrevocably committed to transformation of the State, as well as the empowering Citizens.He appealed to Deltans to be patient with Government policies, stating that though the gestation period is long, harvest is sure and always bountiful.
The Managing Director, Christscent Energy Limited, Mr. Sam Adeleji, who has initiated this project and has his company powering it, stated that his drive to venture into this project, is based on his passion to be part of the Delta Beyond Oil initiative. He further stated that his target is to rid the environment of waste as well as engage the youths of the community gainfully.
The Economic Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Mr. Afam Obiago, who was also present at the flag off, said that the project is a testimony to the fact that the Government policies are working, and expressed his hope for a more robust economy.
The Port Manager, Delta Port, Mr. Obumneme Onuenyenwa, expressed joy over the initiative of Mr. Adeleji, who has not failed to plough back into the nation, his wealth of experience even after retirement. He urged other citizens to take a cue from Mr. Adeledji as it will ensure for a better nation.
The Local Government Chairman, Evang. David Eweta Edu, expressed Joy at the reopening of the Koko Port and seeing this project being carried out in it. He hoped that the project gets to its apex, as well as become a platform for other projects.
