Assuming u already have a shop and generator. You'll still need little capital above 50k. Say, 75k to 90k.
Fact!

I am a trained Barber and still doing internship with my facilitator. I am yet to set-up my own salon, but I know what it takes.

Re: Is N50,000 Enough To Startup A Barbing Saloon? by fckyourman: 6:16pm On Nov 14, 2013
First.

You need at least two clippers = (6000)
You need at least two Barbers chairs= (7,000)
Small Generator= (15,000)
DVD+ Speakers (5,000)
4 Waiting Chairs (9,000)
Mirrors on the wall (1,500)
Hair Products (2,000)
Hire Barber don't pay upfront

Total Around 45k might be cheaper depending on the market.

Depends on the type of saloon
If its those low end ones that can fit inside a kiosk, then why not.

Depends on location and how big you want it to be but definitely Yes.
Lagos or Bauchi?
But even in Lagos those that stay outside the fence under a tree are lower.
Start up cost
Clipper
I pass my neighbour
Mirror
Association fee (depends on location)
Bib

Or you become a home Barber and visit clients/share with a female saloon owner. So yes its possible but tight.

50k is not sufficient to start a barbing salon. However, that doesn't say you can't start with it. Aside from the N50,000, what else do you have? Do you have any equiments of your own?

if you already have a place to stay, then 50k should be okay.

If that is all you have, you can start small and grow from there. Make sure you fix your price between 50-100# Don't fix it more than that o.

he needs a TV too.....
the best method is to secure loans from parents & relatives and then start with a good concept.

the barber chairs should be rented out to barbers. they will deliver a flat rate to you every week(say N10,000). if they make more or less, it's not your business as long as the agreed rent has been paid.

by doing this, you should be able to pay off all your creditors within a short period. don't just hire people to work for you like slaves, they will eat your money & run away.
