Its been said that the AC in big daddy versions of toyota camry(s) is much more chilly than the models b4 it, i.e the pencil lights versions. In that vein, i want 2know if its possible 2swap the entire AC unit of the pencil light model with the big daddy model. Pls, car enthusiasts, 'm awaiting ur opinion and expert comments. Thanks

Anything's possible, with loads of money, time, patience and above all, skill.

It won't be a direct swap though, as in not plug-and-play. The later car's wiring will make this a nightmare, you'll be frustrated when your mechanic starts scratching his head. So much can go wrong.

Out of interest, when you say "aircon unit", what exactly do you mean? Because there's more to the HVAC system than you realise.

@Mr. Siena am curious to know if the w202 C180 Pre 1996 airconditioning has an evaporator temperature sensor?

Thanks Siena, am relatively a novice with cars compared 2u but am getting there. HVAC system? Don't think 've heard that before. Anyway, am helping a friend who wants 2do the swap to find out thru this medium. I understand you perfectly and factoring our so called mechanics into the equation, it's a no go area. Anyways, oga siena i will mail you soon. Got something 2discuss with you about sourcing a pimped up 2000-2002 Golf 4 from ur base. Thanks so much

Probably not, especially if it has manually-controlled air conditioning.

The evaporator temperature sensor was mostly fitted to cars with automatically-controlled air conditioning (climate control).
