It is a known fact that truth is of God
while lie is of the devil. Those who
dwell in the truth are the children of
God but liars are of the devil, and the
most unfortunate thing is that, many
profess to be Christian lie one way or the other unknowingly, because they
do not know all kinds of lies whether
big or small are sin before God and the
implication are very disastrous [Rev;
21:8]. Truth of God and those who are living
in truth are real children of God and
we go on to live a life full of truth, we
shall be blessed and inherit the
kingdom of God at last in Jesus name. So in this message, we shall study in
details ‘’Truth versus lies’’ in order to
know their effects, and to desist from
lying and follow after truth so that we
can make heaven at the end of our
lives. So let consider the following sub- headings.


THE ACT OF LIES AND EFFECTS

In the first place, we should
understand that every act of
unrighteousness is sin and everything
that is not righteous is unrighteous,
remember the unrighteous shall not
inherit the kingdom of God (1john;5 :17; 1cor;6;9). So be warned
and take time to be holy, for your sins
will surely find you out (Num: 32:23).
We should also understand that there
is no small lie; every lie is a sin before
God, no matter how it was told or to whom you lied to. It could be to your
mother, children, brother or sister,
your master, husband or wife, or to
your pastor, brethren in the church,
business partner, government or
white people(Rev:21: Lies are manifested in so many ways
and when people possessed with evil
spirit of lying, they lie in almost
everything they do and to
whomsoever is around them. Liars say
they are not there when they are there; that did not see or do it when
they are the victims, they said I am
going to be there but it will never be
so; a liar say we are coming while he
or she is coming alone. Says I have nothing, I have not eaten,
I have nothing with me, in the house
nothing nothing but he or she has
many things, liars deny touching,
stealing, being involved when he or
she did all that; they deny going out, seeing that person or knowing about
him or having anything to do with
him, they commit one offence or the
other and deny and still claim to be
innocent and a child of God. They lie in
so many ways and they shall not escape the punishment here and
hereafter, no wonder many who are in
the church today are suffering and are
blaming God. Remember Ananias and sapphire
(acts5:4-10); Abraham (Gen20:1-7),
they did not escape the effects of their
lies. Liars will suffer here and
afterward and they shall perish in hell
fire (rev, 21:. Many lie in their words, thoughts, actions, and so many other
ways, but remember, 1john5; 17, 1cor,
6:9.


THE ACTS OF TRUTH AND EFFECTS


The Lord Jesus Christ is the
embodiment of truth (John14:6); truth
is an act of righteousness and
whosoever dwells in truth is of God’s
righteousness and the righteous shall
inherit the kingdom of God (1john5:18); matt25:46]. Truths set us
free and bring promotions and
blessings of all kinds (psalm 92:12).
Therefore, all those who are walking
in truth, speaking the truth are true
children of God. All true children of God and true minister of God are the
joy of the lord (2john1:1-4); they are
the joy of their parents, relations, etc.
and others testify and boast of them,
and go ahead to commit or entrust
things in their hands (exodus18:21). All those who are living in truth
manifest truthfulness in all their
relationships with others wherever
they are or go, knowing fully that
truth is of God and an act of
righteousness; they speak the truth from their heart, say exactly what they
saw,did,where they are or are going
to and what they did not see, touch;
they give accurate figure and balance
in whatever transaction they are told
to do; they do not exaggerate; they don’t speak of what they do not know
about but quote exactly what they
heard or know; they don’t speak to
attract laughter, favour or to cover up;
they speak the truth anywhere,
anytime and are ready to suffer for the truth and can never side evil
(rom9:1-3). All such people are honest men and
are the favourite of the Lord
(exodus18:21) they are always
sought for anywhere they are, they
are hot cakes, scarce and few both in
the church and the world at large; come what may, they will never lie
(numb24:10-13). Think of joseph,
Moses, Daniel, Meshach, shedrach,
Abednego, Jesus Christ and the
apostles, they stood firmly on the truth
and God blessed them mightily and forever (john1:14, john14:6, 21:1-4). Our God is full of truth as such that he
cannot dwell with liars (rev, 21: and
the righteousness shall inherit the
kingdom of God. For those who are
not born again and backsliders, they
should repent and confess their sins to the lord and he will show them mercy
(1john3:8-9; prov28:13; john1:12;
rom10:13; matt6:33).Remember, no
one born of man and woman is
righteous from the womb, therefore,
whatever you do without been born again, will never qualify you for
heaven , so surrender your life to
Jesus and renounce your sins and
trust in his grace to live right and you
will not be disappointed. (matt6:33,
2cor12:9, 1john3:8-9, 1john5:18, 2cor12:9).
