5:00a.m. Sept 30th 2006
"layo have you had your bath" my dad shouted from his room
"you know today is going to be your first day @ school, I hope you've prepared well for resumption??"
"yes dad" I shouted as I quickly began to wear my big shoes which I called "boogy boogy" back then.... I looked one last time around my room to make sure I was not forgetting anything.... "Dad i'm ready" I said. Dad then replied me and said "ok , wait for me in the car"....
Few minutes later he was out andwe started the journey but not after some prayers and words of advice from my mum..
I sat beside my dad on the passenger seat in the vehicle and my dad then asked "layo I hope you're not nervous??"
I told him that I was a little nervous cuz i've read many stories and heard many gists about boarding schools and here I am going to one @ last.

Command sec school ipaja aka comlag is a Very big school with many students.... When we arrived at the school Omo see ocean of faces wey I just dey see....
After going through the normal hassles of checking in and paying house due and house levy I collected my school uniform and day wear the size which was like a parachute
Omo as I just see Werrin dem gimme wear na him my morale level drop.... I nau began to ask myself that "is this wah i'm going to wear in this school" I shook my head for my self
After dropping small pocket money with my house master my Dad prayed with me and left the school premises.
I just looked around me and it dawned upon me that I was nau on my own....
Na him I sight two guys wey dey wear shorts I then gestured for them to assist me with my luggage b4 I found out that they were my seniors in jss3
when we got to the hostel and I had arranged my things na him these bobos them com dey talk sey make I drop 4 dem.. Omo na only #100 been dey my pocket ... I dipped my hand into my pocket and gave them the money....
after they left I just began to miss my parents and siblings and I began to cry like pikin wey I be lol.... Omo na him I see my fellow jss1 students dey cry oooo. E com be like sey na competition of person wey go cry pass we dey do.
Omo na him I just see one old man like that enta our dormitory.... Omo I surprise o cuz diz guy ma dey wear uniform
4 my mind I just dey laff sey"Werrin diz Baba dey find 4 skul" I almost burst out laffin when I just heard a deep voice say"hey that boy come here" Omo na him I look round ooo Icome see sey na me him dey refer to....... #Gobe

When I finally turned back to see wu he was referring to I saw the so called "senior old man" with a wide grin on his face....
He then motioned for me to come near him...... Me I was kinda confused as to why a total stranger, a senior 4 dat matter should be calling me on my first day of resumption.......
When I got near him , he just put his right arm around my shoulders and we just walked away from where the other students were...
He nau asked me"are u looking for a skul father??"....... Me I just looked @ him and I was like "which one is skul fada again?"...
He just laffed and told me his own definition of a skul fada and started preaching to me that asper sey I be jss1 pikin that I needed protection from my seniors and he was ready to be my skul popcy.... Omo na him diz mumu jss1 boy wey no know anything just dey smile to himself o............

*********friday general assembly is a very interesting day in comlag especially for the junior students.......... It was on such days that u'll hear of seniors that scaled the fence n stole from juniors n also lynched their juniors...."At the count of two...National anthem...1...2..sing".... After reciting the anthem n pledge we also recited the skul anthem.... Our commandant and the AO(administrative officer)will then come of in their blended n sparkling officers uniforms....
Na then u go see bobos start to dey happy cuz dem go expell seniors wey don buy dem laps...... I was one of such bobos that wanted some seniors to be expelled especially my silly ex-school fada.... " Bayo awoniyi come outside nau"the RSM said... Before I could say jack, my ex-school fada jumped outside and went to the podium...... "You were caught scaling the fence and ur punishment is buying ten bags of cement". Na so dem tell the senior sey make him lie down.... He was lashed 24 strokes of bulala.....

I graduated in 2004. Mehn comlag ws fun 4 me. I had correct skl moms nd dad til ss2, by den i don tear eye. Bt we had d worst skl anthem compared 2 oda command skls..

wat year did u finish frm, i graduated 1999 and as for me ComIag was a pIace to b, its a pIace for compIete cnowIegde n discipIine and for anyone that pass tru comIag and wasnt smart and upto the everyday struggIing in Iife can never b smart or withstand the stress in Iife, my era then was the tenure of the great Captain John Obasa (A.O) who actuaIIy shace the foundation of comIag then.
It was reaIIy a pIace of fun, Iaughter, weeping over punishment(as we thinc then), etc just a pIace fuII of everything n anything u want to thinc abt. Cant forget my SS2 extension cIass that i spent d whoIe weecend in the guardroom (aII OCTOPUS house students then).........Comiag is a pIace dt Iingers on in my heart.......

Ah....!....uncle odbambo.....when u graduated me i still dey suck breast o...lol........comlag was still hot in our days cuz i passed out 2012.......am proud to be an ex-commando...,.. update continues..
