The very essence of some of the world's most popular religious groups centers on the theme of LOVE. The 'holy' books also give credence to this profound theories of amorous actions and confessions within their followers and their neighbours. Even God (the all-knowing, all-powerful and ever-present), the grand-schemer and master planner is supposedly all-good (that doesn't stop him from slamming you in a burning gaol forever for wearing ear-rings)
However, in contradiction to all of the laws and norms prevalent in the human system, these religions and their books support the worst forms of human savagery. Slavery, murder and arson to mention a few have all been sanctioned by preposterous inspired edicts from the omni-benevolent central being. Natural disasters that have claimed tens of a thousand lives have been credited to the God of Love trying to signal his arrival on planet earth (makes you wonder what happened to rolling a real big, red carpet). The statement, "thou shalt not allow a witch to live", solely inspired the killing of a generously approximated sixty thousand women. Lovely!
But the worst form of violence that has been ochestrated by the powers that be, in the name of God is WAR. The christain crusades, mohammedan wars, and many more barbaric acts of cruelty and hatred were carried out to save the non-existent, butt-hurting backside of God from going into a long overdue extinction. Acts of terrorism, paedophilia, and gender inequality have in recent times been carried out in accordance with the sterling words of a perfect God.
This is not about to end. People must wake up and see the sheer evil nature of religion and theism in general. Science over faith, logic over blind belief, love over the hate and cruely that religion stinks of. In the words of Marcus Aurelius, "Live a good life. If
there are gods and they are
just, then they will not care
how devout you have been,
but will welcome you based
on the virtues you have lived
by. If there are gods, but
unjust, then you should not
want to worship them. If
there are no gods, then you
will be gone, but will have
lived a noble life that will live
on in the memories of your
loved ones".
