Following the arrests of his sons by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's arrest of his sons over money laundering, Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, has abandoned his colleagues in the Amaechi led NGF in Sokoto where they had gone for political discussions under the guise of a retreat to discuss the FAAC, for Abuja for the purpose of securing the release of his two sons.

The siblings are Aminu Lamido, a 2010 graduate of Mass communication of Bayero University, and Mustapha Lamido, an alumni of the University of Abuja.

The brothers were arrested in Kano and have been flown to Abuja at the wee hours of yesterday.

The EFCC had quietly investigated and found accounts which had been in receipt of monies from the Jigawa state government since Lamido took office. These accounts are allegedly controlled by Lamido and his sons.
