Honeywell Group of companies is to establish two multi-billion naira factory in Abia for both cassava processing plant and solid minerals such as cement production. The Chairman, Honeywell Group, Dr Oba Otudeko made this Know during a programme to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the state government in Abia. Otudeko said his company is willing to investing in the state because of the security structure that has been put in place by the present administration. Otudeko said that they are going to establish a cassava processing plant because of the large cassava farms that are scattered in different parts of the state while the solid mineral like lime stone which are abound around Arochukwu area, will have a cement factory. The Honeywell boss said that his company is strong in different areas of the economy like food processing, agriculture, energy, real estate among others, stressing that they have been eying Abia state for a very long time. He said, “We have been interested in Abia state for a long time because of its agricultural potentials, human and other resources, which is why we refused to go to countries outside the country. Our company have been lured by such countries like Zambia, Ghana, Senegal and Guinea, but we prefer to invest in this state”. The Honeywell boss said that his company will always prefer doing business in Nigeria like Abia state, stressing that the state has been giving them all the necessary cooperation the company needed to establish any flourishing venture in the state. Otedeko maintained that his company is fully committed in working withthe state government, adding that the business they are going to establish will be on Public Private Partnership [PPP], “As every business is about success based on clear commitment which we will give to the state when we start”. He praised the governor for his commitment in developing the state andassured the governor that his company will replicate what the state government is doing in the state once they start their operations in the state, “As we are ready to partner with the state to ensure that business ventures flourish here”. Responding the state governor, Chief Theodore Orji said that the state is in an economic revolution and is ready to partner with any genuine business group that will help the state and its people to improve on its economic potentials. Orji said that the state is attracting core business ventures which he attributed to the ability of the state government to control the security challenges it faced some time ago, adding that the state government is ever ready to sustain the security it fought hard toget. The governor said that Honeywell is investing in the state because, “Of our large percentage of both human and natural resources and we are willing to partner with any group that is ready to invest in the state and tap into our numerous resources for the benefit of such group and the state”. He regretted that before now that fraudsters have been coming into the state with bogus business ideas, “Once we give them the certificate of occupancy they will run away with the intention of using the land for a different business venture. We are wiser now as we doing business with genuine companies like Honeywell”. Orji assured the group that the state government will provide them with all the necessary support they require to succeed in any type of business they will want to establish in the state and urged them to look towards the youths of the state during their employment period.

One of the Nigerian businessmen I respect so much. He is a genuine businessman, knows how to run successful companies from decade to decade, unlike the corrupt Jimoh Ibrahim.

Wise Nigerians that have foresight are investing massively in agriculture, the lazy fooools are still crying for employment and government handouts.
