Exodus Hits National Mirror As Senior Editor, Others Resign, Jimoh Ibrahim Panics

When thegazellenews.com exclusively reported that the owner of National Mirror newspaper, Jimoh Ibrahim, plans to turn the paper into a weekly insertion in the Newswatch weekly, many highbrows were raised.

However, subsequent events at the newspaper house have continued to prove us right.

Immediately after our story, Jimoh Ibrahim called a meeting of top staff of the company telling them, “I have no intention of turning National Mirror into an insertion in the Newswatch Weekly. Have you seen where a child swallow the mother? However, I’m assuring that there will be restructuring at the paper between December and January,” a subtle admission of our story.

At the meeting, most of the top management staff pledge their loyalty to the newspaper house.

It is really surprising that the top editor who was the first person to pledge his loyalty to the paper has already resigned his appointment. His destination is the new newspaper being floated by the former Governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu.

Thegazellenews.com learnt further that more staff of the newspaper will resign next week for their various destination.
