The name Emmanuel as stated in the Book of Matthew 1:22-23. Isn't the name of Jesus Christ.

The name Immanuel/Emmanuel was mentioned in three (3) places in the bible: Isaiah 7:14, 8:8 and Matthew 1:23.

Why should I say the name isn't His name?

Lets take a look at this;
Matthew 1:22-23.

22. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Where was this prophecy prophesied?

Lets take a look at the book of Isaiah 7:1-25

POINTS:

1. There was no war in the time of Jesus.

5. Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,
6. Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it,eventhe son of Tabeal:

also,

16. For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

2. It was not recorded that Jesus ate butter and honey.

15. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

3. This means, The Prophesy came to fufillment before Jesus was born.

8. For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.

Threescore and five years mean 65years. A score is 20.

So this also proves that Mary isn't the first virgin to conceive in Israel.

Hello fredx4, the bible is meant to be read and understood by Christians and not pastors. And it should be read from Genesis to Revelation.
Note: As long as you are a Christian, all passages in the bible are important to your faith.

It talk about conquering Judah and installing their own leader there...before that will be achieved, you must fight wars to de-throne the king there, but it never happened in the time of Jesus.

The season for calling Jesus - Emmanuel is here again, but kindly make research before you worship what you dont know.
